Romelu Lukaku

UEFA's regulations state that, with a few exceptions, players who play in any European club competition are subsequently cup-tied with respect to all European football for the remainder of the season.

A further exemption applies: one player per club who would normally be cup-tied can be registered and eligible to play, so long as his previous club did not field him in the same competition. This means that players can represent two different clubs in the Europa League and Champions League, but only a maximum of one player per club. However, if the first club switches into the same competition (e.g. transfers from the Champions League to the Europa League through finishing third in the group stage), the transferred player becomes ineligible. This can lead to some complex situations

Costa talking up Lukaku to Chelsea too now, after Hazard's comments it's probably not a coincidence.

Hope Chelsea have made him their top priority, that way we're likely to get top whack for him, especially is Costa leaves as he's hinted at in the same article.

£80m please Chelsea.

Not remember the Stones debacle then?? We had Cahill, Jose and Hart telling him to go there.... He ended up at City.

Apparently griezmann has said he wants to leave. Wheels in motion...

With that and the Atletico ban appeal due to be decided tomorrow, we should know more soon, as Griezmann seems to be the key. He stays then Costa and Rom stay put. He leaves then we will inevitably get caught in the chain reaction.

There was an interview with Lukaku's brother today; no spectacular quotes when asked about RL:

IV: This also applies to Romelu, who isn't popular with a part of the Belgian crowd.
JL: I know. People Don't like him.
IV: How do you explain that?
JL: Against Bosnia he misses a big chance, people whistle. Shortly after he scores, I call that hypocrisy, booing someone when he misses, praising someone when he scores. It is what it is, but in the end in doesn't change a thing.
IV: Quite a part of the people think he's arrogant.
JL: This is absolutely incorrect ! I am much more arrogant than him. (laughs). RL is modest and friendly. But if Romelu speaks out about his ambitions, then there are lads like Wesley Sonck (average ex footballer) who think that he should adjust his ambitions and shouldn't think he's somebody else (?). What's that about? Why can't he dream? People criticize his first touch, his technique ... If you want to see beautiful football, go watch street football in Brussels. Even Eden Hazard would get nutmegged a thousand times there. Our football is totally different. Romelu's goal is to score, which he does. And still they criticize him.
IV: I think he's affected by the criticism.
JL: He wants to know why people don't support him. If he's having a difficult moment, he gets slated when he should receive support. Immediately the names of Benteke, Michy or Divock pop up.

This is a very quick translation of this:

(lacht) Romelu is bescheiden, vriendelijk.

Rom says he's committed to Everton, everyone loves him. Done deal. And guess what? You sign a big deal with someone, they are going to criticize you. You don't think they'd criticize him at Chelsea? Man...

I like Rom and think he's a good guy for the most part. And again, there is NO WAY we are accepting 60M for him. No chance.

His agent was on talksport with Jim White earlier. Jim said " Rom's contract was 99.9% done you said " he replied " It was, but that 0.1% is a big deal " and then laughed it off.

Jim want on to say the deal will have to be 100 million for Everton to sell and he dismissed that.

Snake he is.

Aubemayang to PSG (the one place I could see Rom going and guaranteeing first team). Griezemann favourite for United. The options are disappearing for poor Romelu. Oh well I'm sure he'll be happy at another year with us whilst he waits to finally be good enough for a top team to take him.
