Romelu Lukaku

I will say this about Lukaku. The biggest reason he is having so much success in the goal department is because Koeman allows him to stay on the last man for 95 percent of the game. He has the luxury of having Barkley behind him (a very mobile player that can take the ball downfield on his own) and Davies to pick up the ball in the channels as well as Mirallas or another support player. I'm not saying he is incapable of holdup play (I think he has it in his locker), but Koeman doesn't really ask him to check back and let players run beyond him. He would be asked to do much more with and without the ball if he went anywhere else. Rom is the focal point here on almost every opportunity and if I'm being honest that is what you want him to be. His best trait is his finishing. I do think if Lukaku was asked to do more he would do a fine job, but if you have limited touches in games like he usually does, chances are you will look sloppy on the ball from time to time.

With Chelsea looking so bad be interesting to see if he turns up against them next home game. After the shockers he has had in his last two big games , OT and Anfield, will need to see something from him in a big game.
He has the chance now to go past Dixies record scoring in consecutive home games, if he dose it might cost Chelsea the league, let's see how focused he is against the side it seems he might want to Go back to

I agree with this, but would add that he is a brilliant finisher and therefore justifies the way Ron plays him. I've read elsewhere (from a poster I know and respect) that we could be a better team without him if Ron spends the proceeds wisely, Lukaku is not mobile and the supposition is that we could be even more effective with two highly mobile attackers. What do others think?

Agree to an extent but the problem for me is, and as with most teams, we don't play two up top? Do you mean someone behind in the number 10 role?

He will be coveted by all the top European clubs. His age and his record in one of the toughest leagues in the world - and his lack of any serious injuries, btw - will be an immense attraction.

Bottom line s that he WONT sign a new contract. We know that now, it's been confirmed. And if that happens we stand to lose a fortune by keeping him another season longer. That is not going to happen.

He's as good as gone as far as I'm concerned.
It certainly looks that way, but, things change very quickly.
There are probably very few clubs that could afford the fee that Lukaku would make this summer.
Chelsea,Utd and possibly Real Madrid. How many other clubs that are in the market for a striker could afford a fee of 70 plus ?
It then comes down to which other top quality strikers are available and at what price.

Chelsea, City, PSG, Bayern...I could see them looking at and paying that kind of money for Lukaku.

He wins more headers than he loses now which is a huge turn around, also, his flick ons tend to go the right way too. His ability to deal with long balls has,in all aspects improved 100%

Who will I boo when he's gone?.

Id be gutted if anyone boos him, no reason too at all, if anything he has come early in Koemans project, a few years down the line and I feel like we would be in a much healthier position to keep him. Just look at Spurs, few years back couldnt keep anyone, now they have developed into a side players want to stay with

If you want to win this league, Lukaku is the best possible striker you could have. None of the teams below the top 7 can deal with him. If you want to win trophies in Europe, you may want a more versatile player. I think Lukaku will be very good wherever he goes, but we put him in the very best position to succeed. I don't think he's as hopeless in other areas of his game as some others think, I just think Koeman doesn't ask him to do all of those things too often.

Do you believe that Guardiola would sign a player like Lukaku ? He already has Aguero, Jesus and Iheanacho.
Bayern. I don't think Bayern will the level of fee needed to sign Lukaku.
I think it is Utd or Chelsea and there is a question mark over Mourinho and Lukaku from their Chelsea days. Utd have Ibrahimovic, Martial and Rashford.
Chelsea are most likely but that depends on Costa and if Conte wants Lukaku or somebody like Morata from the Italian league.
PSG certainly have the money, but would Lukaku go to France.
