Think the paper should have allowed comments for this to be honest. The writer will essentially remain unchallenged and should be expected to defend his polemic against those who would like to challenge it I think. The Guardian does that quite a bit. Drops an inflammatory article like this and then protects the writer from riposte by removing the comments section

Just reading more about just how corrupt Abramovich really is and how he cheated and committed fraud to obtain his billions. Unbelievable really, and how he was welcomed to Britain and allowed to invest his ill-gotten gains in this country.

So now we know for sure that all of the success Chelsea has enjoyed for 20 years has been due to the money from a crook who cheated and conned his way to wealth.

I know it's not the fans who should be punished for this, but I genuinely think every single trophy won by Chelsea since 2003 needs to be wiped off their record and they should go into administration, transfer ban for several years and sent to the bottom of the football pyramid.

We finished 4th that season and had to play in the qualifying rounds of the Champions League. If Roman's money hadn't have been there we'd have been third, straight into the group stages and who knows where that may have led us financially.

The club cannot get away with this. His wealth has always been questioned, and Chelsea willingly sold to a man with huge question marks about where his money came from.

It was never a well kept secret. It was just allowed to happen for 2 decades. It's just all come home to roost now.

Newcastle will be next after the league allow them to pump billions into it

Yep, the league and FA will of course wait until they've personally benefitted enough financially before feigning some kind of moral stance. Could take a long time yet.

Recorded that Panorama last night, reading today that it's pretty hard hitting.

Russia was like the Wild West during Yeltsin, the books I've read on the Oligarchy is mind blowing.

Strange times for Chelsea fans right now, must be surreal for them.

The Guardian is incredibly annoying for this.

It hardly ever opens BTL comments on any subject which could potentially be inflammatory or deviating from it's world view and it is ridiculously heavily moderated.
