Rodwell

I agree, he was always looking for the ball and the way he plays is so graceful. He just glides across the pitch, wonderul close control and he isnt afraid to have a pop. I know he is MEANT to be a CB, but his career is clearly going to be played CM. Him and Gosling are the future, both are going to be excellent players.

Agreed.

He could play in both positions but I definatly think he's got the ability to be a top central midfielder.

Rodwell played very deep and kept things moving really well. That allowed Arteta to push forward and play as an attacking midfielder just behind Cahill. Interesting move by Moyes.

It's the first time I've seen Mikky play there this season, he was eveywhere in the second half and injury time. Excellent performance by him, he was the only player who looked like he had a clue at times.

i have to say what impressed me the most, wasn't just their composure, but their confidence. neither of rodwell or gosling thought anything of having a go, to see a goal with one of the best keepers in the world, and decide its worth having a go from outside the box, that to me signifies that these kids will do great things.

where most would be intimidated, they played with the lightheartedness of a schoolyard game, but still gave it their all, and it most certainly paid off. i don't know what moyes has been doing to these boys, but to make them confident enough to play against a team like liverpool without fear is just amazing.

I said that to my dad at the match last night TB, we have a potential england captain in rodwell. deffo think Centre mid will be his position:D

It says it all when they bring on 30 mill pound worth of talent in Babbel and Mascheranio and two young lads from the Everton Acadamy steal the show!

Thats the difference between them and us, honesty, integrity and dignity.

Pride like ours cant be bought!

Quality post- love it.

You can always tell a player by their first touch and the pace they play the game. Felliaini (although he didnt show it too much last night) has a great first touch and makes himself space to play the game at his own pace- Rodders has that too.

I love the way he strokes it around with either foot has composure and knows how to play himself out of trouble. He looks like he can read the game as well to make those important tackles. Midfield of Fellaini and Rodwell in a couple of seasons time could be the bollocks.

I think as a squad we have progressed since last year despite what we all hoped for during the summer transfer window.

The talent we have in the team and coming up from the youth academy is encourageing as a squad we look squad praaticularly in midfeild, ok we have had bad luck with injuries but overall and without the squad is proving an excellent. The youth coming through is the most pleaseing thing, Rodwell and Gosling were superb last night. If this can be supplimented with Baxter in the next few years as a quality first team player it would be awsome.

Additionaly with AVDM, Valente and Castillo all likely to be on their way, there is sp0pace for one or two quality additions in the sumer depending on how the tv rights deal goes!

The future is blue!

I see what you are saying but i Have a feeling that VDM may actually be offered a little extension.

But our two young lads were clearly nervous at first which is to be expected. It was a hell of a match to be tossed into. However they settled and should develop well from the experience.

He's a good player, very composed and a good passer but he needs to work on getting stuck in and his positioning.

I feel he goes abit anonymous when we're having to defend.

He is 17 years old though, he's only been playing central midfield for a year and a half. That speaks volumes for me, how good he looks considering his inexperience all round.

I do feel he's the best prospect we have at the club. He is potentially an all rounder.
