Rodwell Rumours?

GhostOfDixie

Player Valuation: £70m
I've not heard nothing, but Kipperites seem to think he's on his way to Man U in the next 2 years.

Not sure how much weight is behind the rumour and whether or not it is Evertonians expecting the worse as usual and pre-empting it.

Who can say what will happen though. I don't think there is anything in it, but if he did leave Everton before he is 20 and went to Man U, then I'm done with it all. No more for me. End of. Finished.

If he carries on the way he's going, then the Man Utd's, Chelsea's and even the Real Madrid's will certainly be interested in him. I think he is here though for a few more seasons at least

Chin up, it may never happen

The guys pretty level headed, and's got his feet on the floor. He dumped his Girlfriend because he was afraid she might interfere with his football, he recently signed a 5 year contract, and has said he feels Everton is the best place for him to develop as a player.

Why isn't he saying that Everton is the best place for him to win trophies? Because for me he's on the same path as Gerrard and Liverpool were successful because of him and nobody else.

Seriously if he signs for another club before he is 20, damn even 25 I'm done with Everton. For me letting our future slip away is worse than letting Goodison rot.

If he was to do a Lescott though lad, and sulk because he couldn't get a move away, would you want him here?

As i say, don't think we have to worry just yet, i think he enjoys being an Everton player

Ghost, dont offen agree with you. But if we sell him off like what happend with rooney. Me to, jibb it all off. coz whats the point. It's one thing when you cant spend as much as others for players. but when you produce top talent that clubs just take off you...!!

I completely understand what you're saying

I would be unbelievably cheesed off as well (to put it mildly)

But could I walk away from this club? Never

It's not about him wanting a move because Man U have come knocking, it's about the club not protecting the player and allowing him to become available to other clubs. Look at the lad, he's ******* awesome, best prospect we have ever had since perhaps Dixie, and I'm not exagerrating, I believe the lad is that good a player, and if we were to see him for the next ten years we will win trophies.

So the club need to move on him, get him tied down to a huge contract, then if any club were to offer money it would have to be a record for a player of his age, and even then I would still be pissed off.

Exactly, what are we a feeder club or a retirement home? Seems it may be both.

Well I could, why? because the club have not respected me.

However, this may not happen but I reckon the club are hoping the situation doesn't arise rather than them taking steps to safeguard the future of the club.

If he carries on developing the way he is then you've got to expect big clubs to come in for him, that's only natural.

I doubt there's some agreement between Everton, Rodwell and Manchester Utd though, it's just not realistic.

If he went anywhere, it would be for a ridiculous fee. 25m plus. Because we'd be selling the potential.

And if he one day leaves, we'll survive, just like we did after Rooney.

Hate to say it but everyone has a price and that price could be well over 30 million. If we keep him for 3 more seasons he will be some player. And who knows what will happen, we may have the money to keep him and build the team around him and the rest of the kids who come through as they always come through(y)(y)

The difference between us and The Sh*te is that S-Me was coming into a side that had perrenially won things - and they have always been able to flash the cheque book to pay him and bring in new talent (eg. Torres) . We have to question our ambition.. like so many other clubs beyond the (so-called) Big 4 (is it 5/6 now?) their best talents have been whisked away to bigger and (usually) better things. Tis the way of the world..

So Torres - for example - is a big star - he's no longer at (a very good) Athletico Madrid.

It pains me to say it but I won't be surprised if it happens.

If he keeps developing and turns into a midfielder of international class, I'm afraid the big spenders of Europe will come in and buy him. He's already on Manure's radar and I guess a lot of other European top teams are following him too. Unless Everton will turn into a regular Champions League contender in the next 3-5 years of course. Wishful thinking.
