..another first for the club. Not only is it great innovation and vision from the club, it’s something that the media is picking up on today and raising Everton’s profile for all the right reasons.

The BBC report on this even made the 6pm news here in New Zealand. Couldn't be prouder to be a blue. Funnily enough, they didn't report on the match lol it was all about Jack and Everton.

I have mixed feelings about this, Eggs.

Yes, it is great that the technology exists to let this little fellow have his day in the sun and yes, it is great that the club is receiving good publicity for it.

But there is a flip side.

One of our members posted a few weeks ago about how his his grandson was due to be mascot on the original date of this game, which was changed at very short notice from Saturday gone to last night.

The child was unable to go last night due to his parent’s commitments but the club has been very unsympathetic toward the family, saying they cannot be accommodated during the rest of this season and there is a waiting list for next season.

They are putting him on that waiting list and have refused to refund the money.

Personally, I think the club have acted disgracefully over the matter and that is tempering my joy at last night’s innovation.

So whilst EFC made one young boy’s dream come true.....another young boy had his big day ruined :(

Great gesture by the club, loved it!

But lets be fair,

This, is a robot......

What a touching story.

Hope Jack had a great night.

For all its (many) faults on the field, you can guarantee that Everton will always try to help out those less fortunate where they can.
