Roberto Martinez still thinks Everton are part of the relegation battle.

spot on lad went there last week they were as bad as us ,he said they played some great stuff ,id hate to see the bad stuff
Me too and I thought exactly this.

Thing is anyone who hasn't watched the game thinks that he's telling the truth, so for some reason everyone have got Wigan down as Barcelona or Arsenal or something.

Martinez is in good company, noted a couple of cheeky bastards who've been quoted in recent weeks

Obi Michel in a prematch interview last week said 'its always a difficult playing away to teams like Stoke And Everton; Cheeky [Poor language removed]
Ian Holloway on the cup draw 'they beat us 5-3 last season and kept their Premiership status and we lost ours' Cheeky [Poor language removed]
holloway ,we kept r status because we fin above 12 other teams in a 20 team leauge ,you stupid little west country mong

His words have been taken out of context a bit there.

What he's actually said is quite right.

And even if he had said "Everton are gash and could well end up in the bottom 3" I'd not have too many problems as he saw the other week how bad we are, when we almost lost to his team (the worst in the league).

If I remember correctly Reading went from 10th to 18th with about 12 weeks left in the season. Blackpool and Hull shot down the table quickly too. If someone like Norwich, who do not have a deep team, get a rash of injuries/bad luck they could fall down the table as well.

norwich will get 2nd season syndrome, their squad is fairly average, lambert will be at a better team and they've been riding on luck and last minuet winners for about 2 years

Yeah exactly.

Its just another round of people getting all furious because someone else in the game made a perfectly acceptable comment about Everton.

Ask Moyes if he thinks we're safe from relegation. Mind you he'd probably say no even if we had 50 points and play for a draw against Blackpool.

I know plenty of Norwich fans who are still worried about relegation. Thats Norwich who are above us in the league.

Sure, its pretty damn likely we and them are too high up the table to worry about it but its still a slight possibility as Martinez points out.

It's also a slight possibility that Liverpool could win the league...

Just because something is 'slightly possible' doesn't make it worth pointing out. We need to win three out of our last 13 to virtually guarantee safety. They need to win four just to catch us. Won't happen.
