.....just watching the Chelsea game and the home fans groaning loudly twice as Fabregas makes two errors. It's what fans naturally do, can't ask them to wear dummies and not moan at little Ross.

This is a difficult one. I do agree that some players may be adversely affected by booing. Particularly younger players.
On the other hand supporters have the right to express their discontent. It is not like the club reduces the ticket prices when the team serves up poor performances.
If the booing is generalised and not aimed at individuals then it is a legitimate protest. I'm not sure I would like to see a particular player being singled out for abuse.
I disagree with the poor comments being written about individual players on this site, again particularly the young players.
In short if players expect support and the crowd to create an atmosphere when things are going well then they have to be big enough to accept the expression of discontent when they don't live up to expectations.

I was using Barkley as an example, as to what may happen in the extreme

My aim was to try to get over the point that if we start becoming a crowd that is impatient and poisonous towards the smallest of errors or effort, it could have far reaching consequences.
The media is picking up on it, you listen to commentators they are constantly reporting on it. Ex Everton players are trying to defend us.
If not careful players might have second thoughts in coming to us, especially if they have other offers on the table

Also I am not defending players in any way, as they are overpaid and overhyped and deserve criticism when not performing

I agree in venting frustrations and letting the team know, I don't agree with the horrible poisonous atmospheres some people are trying to create as the norm at home
I will say thought the crowd was excellent

After netting the the third today, I'd of thought he'd of gone nuts celebrating, but it was all a bit muted.

Shame really.

Top level togger though lads. Not like any of us play it like.

Sad times when Everton fans are acting like Chelsea fans!!
