RIP Pele

A real footballer, not like the over hyped dross we get told are brilliant in the modern day game.

I loved hearing my dad talk about how he saw Pelé play (and get lumps kicked out of him ) at Goodison in 66. I only saw him in the clips that were available, but he was magical, and liked every other kid, I wanted to play like Pelé. I even forgave him for destroying my beloved Sweden in the 58 Final.

Bless you Pelé, a true legend of the game

A top player was Pele. No doubt. Alongside Messi he has no equals. Different eras different rules so can't separate them. That said if you're 1-0 down with 5 minutes to go you'd always prefer to have Duncan Ferguson to bring on than either of those two.
