Rip it up and start again?

It is that bad on the face of it, but fundamentally it isn't - there's just a malaise over the squad and the players aren't really playing for RM.

It's not outright mutiny, down tools or anything like that. Just a passive attitude of giving 95 instead of 100%, hoping for a win rather than demanding it by playing bold football. Like all of us, the players are just really bored with the management.
Not sure. You may be right. I think a lot of it is possibly down to just a lack of confidence and frustration due to results.

We started of playing some lovely football but were let down by terrible defensive/goalkeeping errors. seemed to try to modify it a lttle at the start of the year. And to be fair it had an effect. Instead of letting in 2 or 3 silly goals a match we were only letting in 1 or 2. However the modification also seemed to nullify our attacking flair so the results didn't improve really, except in the cup. I think the players just reached the point where they lost a bit of faith/confidence in the manager and each other.

Maybe we just need the right addition/s to make this group of players who (lets not be too selective in our memories, have shown signs of tremendous talent) gel. That change probably should start in the manager's seat but probably also is needed on the pitch.

Not sure how you can judge Niasse to be fair?

Either way a proper Left mid would be nice. None of those really fit the bill.

I will give Niasse more time but can only go on what I've seen (And the fact that when he signed I couldn't find a record of the Russian player of the year award that he won which made me suspicious)

I don't think we will sign 2 LW so think Mirallas will stay. Particularly if Martinez isnt here

The more I look at the squad, the more I'm thinking wholesale changes might be required. As much as we can blame Roberto for the flop this year, the players need to be held to account too. I think virtually every area of the pitch needs looking at:

Goalkeeper - Definitely require a new first choice keeper IMO

Full backs. - Baines and especially Coleman have realistically been poor for a long period of time now. Are they living off their reputations? Wouldn't mind a revamp

Central Defence. - Depends if Stones stays, but even if he does, we don't seem to have a balanced pairing.

Centre mid - I'm not the only one utterly bored of seeing Barry and McCarthy. We need a mobile forward thinking player who can thread a pass. I wouldn't even cry if Barkley left, he's ineffectual in way too many games

Wingers - have all got good reason to be unhappy this season, being left out for months at a time. None are irreplaceable.

Strikers - I really can't see Niasse making it (He must look garbage in training tbh), Rom looks like he wants to go, so we could well need another two top strikers. I'd go for Benteke tbh.

That is an awful big overhaul for the summer. We need the right man in charge of it.

I would say it is all Robertos fault, some terrible signings mixed with poor/no tactics and bad man management.

Not sure Robles has done too much wrong. IMO Baines is probably on the wane now. For Coleman, form is temporary, class is permanent. A commanding centre back would be welcome. Barkley is a very good player. Does he need resting/rotating a bit more to keep him fresh? Barry has been fantastic for us, but at his age it's a big gamble going into the season with him as the main man in front of the back 4. Right wing is sorted. Cleverly has looked quite good at times, but maybe a squad player rather than an automatic starter. Mirallas is a demigod to some and a selfish egotist to others. I wouldn't spill too many tears if he departs, so long as an exciting foreign type with green boots and a playboy bunny girlfriend replaces him. Up front it's lukaku or nothing at the moment. niasse has had as much impact as the inland revenue on the Cameron household budget. Got to start judging him sometime - Martinez clearly is.
