Reasonable force, always thought that phrase a bit woolly. You might achieve it with training but how’s Joe public supposed to cope against two of them. As Chico said the” adrenalin flows”. Self preservation boots in and you do your best to floor them by whatever means necessary. Worry about their condition afterwards.

As I understand it reasonable force is the force deemed necessary to resolve the situation that can be upheld within a court of law. So if he can justify that he had no option,but to kill one of them, in order to subdue them then fair play, just hope he has a good solicitor.

Thinking about it though how do you subdue 2 miscreants armed with knives? how do put one down, and keep him down whilst you deal with the other one? Dunc had the right idea but not everyone is 7ft tall, hard as nails, and scary as feck.

My advice...to avoid this kind of situation is to get a large dog, and if anyone does manage to get in...then its open season and time to get medieval on their arse! Chains, and racks and [Poor language removed] like that!!
