Richarlison

Peoples attitude towards lukaku for me was the biggest difference between what you see online and what matchgoing fans are like. You obviously had grumbles at the game but lukaku was generally adored by the fans at the ground, whereas going online you’d have sworn he was like public enemy number 1.
There's an obvious reason for why Lukaku got stick after games, not during games, because he could be anonymous during a game and suddenly change a game. He only needed 1 chance to score, look at his goal at City away, City dominated, Lukaku scored out of nowhere. Some games Lukaku didn't do anything, hence abuse after games, sometimes like West Ham away he'd do nothing and score a late winner and he's a hero. Richarlison was always more popular than Lukaku, because he created goals as well.

Always recall Lukaku trying to nick Davies goal v City being a bit out of order, but I guess that comes with the territory with a goal scoring winners mentality.

No I don't think so, it was just typical nonsensical keyboard warrior stuff, you know, like people saying he never created goals and someone like Richarlison did, despite him having an assist every 6.5 games compared to Richarlison's 1 every 11 games, that sort of thing.

Richarlison would often be greedy and run in to dead ends when he had other options open to him. He is a composed finisher, has good footwork and works hard though.

I would take him on loan with an option if it’s a reasonable fee, unlikely though with Levy.

Defo shouldn’t be spending large money on him though.

Don’t understand why nobody would want him back. I think he’s one of our greatest ever players.
"Greatest ever players"? Err no mate. Good player , loved the club, loved the fans , tried hard - yep all that but you can't mention him in the same breath as Dixie , Labby , Bally , Latch , Dave Higson , The Golden Vision , Colin Harvey or any of the great 80s team.

He's not even on a par with Kanch when it comes to legendary status.

Jermain retired years ago....is a pundit now. So wont be spending large money on him, though was class for Spurs and Portsmouth and would have been a brilliant signing for us.

I can't speak on others motives for criticism of Lukaku, but I think he was just a traditional goal poacher, he rarely missed chances. Richarlison isn't as ruthless if front of goal, but was better on ball. Both player well for us, and ate better than anyone we have now. Very few strikers other than Drogba and Shearer are all rounded perfect strikers, even players like Haaland and Mbappe have huge flaws in their game.

No I agree with that, my point was nothing to do with that though, I was just saying it gets said a lot that people complained about Lukaku but really that was more a social media/forum thing than something that happened at games. Some players the fans don't take to or whatever but that wasn't the case with him at all, despite how it might sometimes seem.
