If we sell DCL we should ask Richarlison who he wants to play next to, if he'll stay.

Richey is easier to replace than Dom. in our team. he will command more of a fee too. expecially if he score another 2 or 3 goal todays

A. we shouldn't be letting players dictate transfer moves
B. What if he says he wants to play with neymar or the like?

Players do get a say in who they feel would work well with them, maybe not as much during this Director of Football era but certainly makes sense to a degree.

The mainland is skint due to the Pandemic outside of a few clubs (Real, PSG, Bayern) hence why the RS keep reaching CL finals.

Nows a good a time as any for English clubs to be offering £100k+ a week contracts to players overseas.

The CB Villa have signed is 29 and is on over 120k a week on a long term deal and likely promised regular football - less competition for places than a team like Atletico who'll have offered lesser wages.

As I've repeatedly said Villa are Everton about 2 years behind our cycle. They spent similiar fees as us when we sold Lukaku with the Grealish money. Like us they have this window and next summer to get it right enough to be fighting for a top 4 spot or win the Europa League and get access into the CL before they are in our position.

A load of 31-32 year olds on 100k+ contract's they cant shift and a few players in their prime like Bailey/Buendia who are decent (think Doucoure/Mina) but are either too injury prone or not good enough to make a big sale on to balance the books.

The crowing from Villa fans currently is exactly the same as some of our lot when we were winning the transfer window signing players like James Rodriguez on 150k a week and before that highly rated players like Moise Kean from overseas and Morgan Schneiderlin from here.

I agree but I am being realistic given our FFP position/last season we will be rebuilding again. Richy is one of the few that has a bond with the fans I think if he goes it is probably abroad unless say a United /Spurs/ Chelsea come in with a offer we can't turn down.

Whenever I've seen Richarlison play, he seems to put in a monumental shift and cause non stop havoc for opposition. What's funny is I see alot of Villa fans ( And probably fans of other teams ) say he is massively overated, but I actually feel it's the opposite. Our fans claim he is basically a grumpy Ollie Watkins, personally I feel he is better than Watkins in almost every way ( And I love Ollie )

Yea he definitely has the edge on Watkins I reckon, better finisher and as you say causes havoc! Watkins leads the line well tbf, great presser

We just had our collective noses put out of joint to some of the descriptions of our club on here which leaked back to the Villatalk transfer thread. Just took us by suprise as generally Everton get a lot of respect from Villa fans. Though reading through further, much like our forums there are always a few dicks but mainly seem a respectful bunch.

As I said earlier I don't see Richarlison signing but nevertheless I wouldn't be absolutely shocked. I don't see it as the total impossibility that you guys seem to. Athletico fans seem totally gobsmacked that Diego Carlos came to us over them. Most players we sign the selling club seem bemused about why their player is coming to us.

Added to which I don't think an upgrade on Watkins is what is really going to push us forwards. Unless he is going to Arsenal for silly money which then gives us silly money to tempt someone else. And as we all know, in football silly money talks.

I would be. It's a lateral move. Why would Grealish come here instead of City? That's the comparison you need to start looking at it like. Did you finish higher last season? Yes. The 2 seasons previously we did tho.

It's not like either of us are challenging for anything soon. It makes no sense for Richarlison to leave a place he is loved and loves to go to another club in a similar position.

Richarlison will leave if he wants to leave. DCL will leave because the club are happy for him to leave. I think Lampard will be desperate to keep Richarlison but if he leaves then I expect DCL will stay.

You finished 14th last season - spending loads of money means nothing look at us.

I would snap their hands off. If Forest or Fulham came in with a 60m offer for him I would snap their hands off too. I couldn't care less what club we sell players to as long as we get the money we want. Fortunately I don't suffer from tribal insecurities like many football fans

its not so far fetched for you to sign Richarlison. youve already got Coutinho and Diego Carlos so Richey might go for a move like that. have The Villa got the moneys though
