2021/22 Richarlison

We would absolutely have to sign an actual striker with a half-decent scoring record. Imagine DCL does his cruciate ligaments next week and we've got rid of Richarlison and Kean.

There's a different approach though.

I said the same - signing nobody is better than garbage - when we signed Tosun and Walcott.

We weren't achieving anything that season, or being relegated but we wasted a fortune on both and time has shown we got 0 back.

In short, don't go spending a fortune on Zaha.

Selling at this stage is just all round dangerous for us.

Kean going is fine. We'll choose lower valued targets like Jebbison and Patterson, and if they add 1-2m on, then so be it.

But Replacing your star player, and every club in the world knowing we have £85-100m to spend is suicide for a club with horrendous track record of late.

Wisdom.

Don't blame him going to a giant like them who will have a good chance of winning the Champions League. Just annoying it is happening so late as we will panic buy dross and get stung.

I'd rather this, than try and paper over the cracks.

If we sell Richarlison, it's clearly very important we don't kneejerk and panic buy. Signing no one is better than signing garbage.

No matter what happens with Richarlison.

We won't get relegated.
We won't finish top 6.

Build to compete when we have the capacity to do so.
We would need cover if we let Richarlison and Kean both go. We would be a DCL injury away from a potential relegation scrap.
