Even when he's rubbish by his standards, he's essential.
Out wide with DCL up top, his threat gives DCL the space needed to operate. Richarlison provides more scoring threat when paired up top with DCL, but crowds DCL's space. He tracks back, harasses wing backs and midfielders and generally disrupts the opponents' transition from back to front. He also has passes in him like that perfectly weighted one-time reply to Coleman.
It would take a lot for me to say we should part with him and take our chances with a replacement. For those of you saying that he's petulant, he's generally borne being shifted around to suit the needs of the team at the expense of his stats with good grace. There are worse things than the odd tiff over who's going to take a free kick, though it does expose the need for another real field general that will keep him from getting too big for his britches.
