Richarlison at Spurs

Well no one set any club records nor league records nor won any trophies, so in relation to our history they were good, decent players like Richarlison.

I understand that viewpoint but Tim Cahill coming in for 2-3m in summer 2004, hitting the ground running and massively helping club get top 4 is what I was thinking of. And all the excellent seasons he gave after, same for Baines signing for 7m in summer 2007 which was a decent spend in those times. Jags, Lescott etc.

All just dismissed because they didn't win a league cup as a group together?

Spot on, though. Kenwright has sapped any ambition from the club. Moshiri has been happy to leave him in his role as a lightning rod for the fans' ire. Their running of the club has been criminal.

Hopefully we are moving in the right direction now, but I don't think we are anywhere near competing for trophies. Maybe in 5 years...

It was the recruitment. Having players who don't care or get stuck in ruined us.

Having captains like Coleman and Jagielka also didn't help. I can't elevate how much signings like Coady and Tarkowski means to us.

We could have held oot for more but that Divvy Brands left us in a financial mess meaning we had to sell on the cheap.

After the summer we've just had I am glad to see that some of our fans have finally woken up and realised the owner aint the problem if the DOF is doing his damn job well enough - not spunking £150 millions on tat like Kean, Slomes, Delph, Gbamin, Godfrey, Allan. Players like James and Benard on 140k+ a week.

Definitely not Brands fault, I doubt he wanted Allan or Rodriguez along with Ancelotti's pay.

That has to be blamed on the ownership but I don't necessarily disagree with them, if you can get Carlo then he should get the tools he wantS. It was just a shame we went from 2nd at Christmas to 10th come the end of the season. Even Europa would have sorted us out I guess, nevermind CL.

Imho I just wish that we were less sentimental and could buy at low prices and then sell high. In the wider world, these are decent, good players but to suggest that Everton will collapse after selling Richarlison is far, far from true.

Isn't this the issue though, that these guys like Big Dunc are held in high esteem at Everton but in the wider football universe their star faded many moons ago, if it burned that bright at all?
