This feels like something that could happen along with the signing of Jake O'Brien if Branthwaite really were going to be sold, but it also really feels like someone playing armchair DOF, sorting through the free agents on TransferMarkt and posting something they think sounds like a fit. It does have a certain appeal, not for a player to compete and get real minutes, but for an experienced player to be available when needed and shore up the roster, but I'm leaning toward nonsense.

I think he played in the Euro’s, I remember looking him up a few weeks ago to see if it was the same bloke who scored a screamer against us for Wolfsburg at Goodison and it seems it is. Good player back then, LB competition for Mykolenko.
Still a good player mate, only concern is age, but he'd clearly be backup (unless ofc Napoli interest in Mykolenko turns into a serious bid).
Checked him out over on some profile g sites that had him listed as naturally a CB though which is very weird as can only ever remember him playing on the side
