Respect is due

I have noticed lately that a few of the Moyes Out/Moyes In posts are attracting some hostile and rather personal exchanges at times. It's a divide that we and the team could do without. Just because we have differing views on how the club should be run or who the manager should or shouldn't be, does not detract from the fact that we all love Everton Football Club. We loved it long before Kenwright and Moyes were around and we'll love it long after they've gone to pastures new. So please can we just accept that we are all entitled to our own opinion and debate the issues with a healthy respect for each other rather than treating opposing views with hostility, we are better than that.
I've only been posting on here recently and this is my first thread. For the record I am a recent convert to the belief that Moyes' time has run its course but I certainly wont be questioning where all the Moyes lovers are the next time we stumble.
NSNO applies to the supporters as well as the team so come on everyone lets start respecting each other.

I'll add my kudos. It's not just here, but I've noticed a lack of common manners and decency on message boards and in society in general, and we'd all be well advised to be just a little more respectful of people we disagree with. It's easy to be respectful of people we agree with. Passion is great. Argument is necessary. Calling people names and insulting them personally has no place.

My main gripe is not the Moyes Out/Moyes divide (albeit there is some unjustified and indecent hostility at times) as such, it is the fact that after every single game there seems to be a new thread on the matter. The "Moyes haters" thread post-game yesterday was completely and utterly pointless - why on earth would my opinion on Moyes have dramatically changed after last night's game, and why on earth would I start a thread saying that game proved Moyes' brilliance? It's all getting far, far too "I told you so!" without even having any evidence to back it up.

Superb post mate. You're certainly not the only one noticing it.

I always maintained the stance, that everyone is entitled to his own opinion, whether I agree to that or not. I've always been firmly in the pro-Moyes camp, and can't see changing that in the long run. Will never lower myself to name calling and sl@gging off other members, who are in the Moyes out camp, or whatever other subject Everton related. No need for that, because I can't possible see how that would change their opinions, and you certainly won't change mine by a sl@gging match on here.

The great thing of this particular forum, has always be the open mindedness towards to other members opposing views. Shame, the good fashioned/relaxed nature of this place, seems to have gone out of the window a bit, as of late.
