Reports: Serious Sigurdsson Injury

Hahahaha, behave you massive WUM.

Honestly not winding up - if it is an injury, I hope he returns sooner than expected around September. That way, we have invested in depth in his area of the pitch but he comes back and is a good squad option from October onwards.

I'd rather he wasn't injured and we'd invest in other options for a quality number 10, but if he'd have stayed fit we'd have went into next season with him as the sole option and, honestly, that's not going to be good enough.

Another possible positive is that it opens up a squad role for Dowell on his return too.

"playing because his fee dictates he has to rather than due to form."

This is what you said. He's one of our best players ffs!

Obviously don't want him to be injured, but if he is it forces our hand and means we go in the market for players that may actually be decent signings instead of having a £45m millstone hung around our necks, playing because his fee dictates he has to rather than due to form.

I'd rather he was fit and a squad option of course.

We might just go and get a free back up who's absolute toss while we wait til he's fit again though, that's what we do.

I neither agree or disagree with that. I think he's been on par with around 10 other players who have been alternating between bad and average all season. I'm reluctant to say anyone has been our 'best' player as the word 'best' isn't applicable to pretty much anyone in that squad this season, except Pickford.

Rather, I'd say he hasn't been the worst - Schneiderlin and Williams have that honour.

Gosling was out for 18 months with his injury but still finished the game against wolves if I recall
