Well I did ask which authority you would like to use.
 
Being a geordie he was about the only English English teacher I had. One was Maltese and another French.
(Does geordie count as English?)
Newcastle English is a particular variety of English, just as Liverpool English is, Australian English, Korean English, Ebonics, all are varieties of English.
 
i cannot escape the feeling that this weekend should be one of bloodshed in order for us to be able to move on with a true sense of justice and belonging my buddies.
 
Around/round can both be used in British English although the former (around) is more formal and the latter (round) is more commonly accepted.

I bowled the ball around the wicket. I bowled the ball round the cricket. It means the same bloody thing!
