Rumours flying around social media (fwiw) that he was ditched for having discussions about the Everton job behind their backs, and that he's going to end up here end of season, regardless of which division we're in. Wouldn't be the worst appointment, given how poorly Lampard has turned out. Did well with Burnley over a number of years, and hung out to dry a bit by the new owners when it came to the team renewal that he needed last summer but didnt get.I just can’t get over the Burnley decision to sack Dyche at this stage. He is effectively their David Moyes and if we had sacked Moyes in a similar situation it would surely have the double impact of infuriating the fan base and demoralising the players which is the last thing you want.
Even if Big Sam came in now, he will have to come in, get the players on side and get them adapting to him at a time when games are virtually every 3 days for most teams.
Not saying it’s impossibly they overtake us but I think the decision makes it less likely
I wouldn't write off the derby too soon. They are fighting on four fronts and the last thing they need is a brawling derby where they pick up yellows /reds and /or some injuries. I feel this may be ome that Klopp does not go all out to smash us especially now that Carlo broke the hoodoo. Yes they need the points to fight citeh but they don't need a fight. I dont think people predicting a cricket score will be proved right.I get our run in on paper is more challenging than Burnley’s, however there are plenty of games we could pick up points in;
Leicester (h); their 3rd game in 6 days after we’ve had a 10 day break
Liverpool (a); I’ve written this off- just hope not to damage the goal difference!
Chelsea (h); we’ve shown we can compete with most teams at home.
Leicester (a); They will have played in Rome on the Thursday
Watford (a); may well be down by then, their home record is as bad as our away record!
Brentford (h); they will be safe, little to play for.
Palace (h); as above, safe with little to play for.
Arsenal (a); hoping we’re ok by then!
Breaking the appalling run of away form by picking up a couple of draws, or even a win, would massively help. Would also take some of the pressure off the home games. As others have mentioned, I think we should be looking to overhaul Leeds as well as growing the gap between us and Burnley.

For me is exactly the contrary...he better win those games because if not he will alienate the villa fan base even more and put huge pressure on him for next season.Gerrard - 'alright villa players, as you know I used to play for Liverpool so you lose these games to help relegate another team, it's a very normal thing to do'
They will if we end up winning on Wednesday and burnley beat SouthamptonI wouldn't be surprised if Leeds had a bedwetting thread the equal of this.
Don't forget the brassesPs - Was this before or after he went on a cocaine fuelled rampage with Duncan Ferguson![]()
That story is actually more believable.Ps - Was this before or after he went on a cocaine fuelled rampage with Duncan Ferguson![]()
lolGiven that Watford run out to Z Cars, do you think we can con the players into thinking it's a home game?
in stitches lol lol lol lol
