And we only got 9 points from the first 10 games under Lampard. If that was a new manager "bounce", the ball was punctured. And to be fair to Frank, Benitez had left the air out as he had only earned 5 points in his last 10 games, so context is everything.

What we do know is, if we cannot match Burnley from now to the end of the season, we have failed on an epic scale.
Norwich also only got 5 points in their first 8 prem games under smith

I just think this is a strange time to do it. Remember a couple of seasons ago when Pearson had dragged Watford to the brink of safety and thet fired him with a few games to go; I think Burnley have just accepted relegation.

Bizzare

If they had accepted it they should have kept Dyche as he would be the best man to get them back up again.

Then again, he might be boffing the owners wife

Fair play to them. They are not accepting their fate.

If our lads cannot respond against Leicester, we'll deserve what we get. We have them on the ropes, time to knock them out.
This changes the equation if they do go for a firefighter.

I think it places a little bit of doubt in our players' minds that they could rely on Burnley going gently into that dark night.

A win against Leicester settles us down.

Their chairman:

"results this season have been disappointing and, while this was an incredibly difficult decision, with eight crucial games of the campaign remaining, we feel a change is needed to give the squad the best possible chance of retaining its Premier League status."

Doesn't sound like they are

It will be interesting to see what team Leicester select when they play us. They must play three more games before they play Roma in the semi final. They are in no man’s land in the PL, unlikely to get into Europe and won’t go down. It would make sense to wrap the first eleven in cotton wool ahead of the Roma game. If I was a Leicester player looking forward to the semi I would not fancy playing at a hostile Goodison against a team desperate for points
