Another Burnley fact:

Away Record: 1 win in 15 (like us, a win at Brighton). Unlike us, they had a Dunk-free Brighton defence to contend with as he was suspended. So they put 3 past a depleted defence. Otherwise, like us, they are rubbish on their travels. Which suggests they might have to find most of those 4 points from their 4 home games. If we can sneak 7 points from our 4 they could well need a maximum haul from theirs.

Blimey. When? This is our worst side for 70 years.
Well, this is the side that won at Anfield in February 2021:

Pickford
Coleman Holgate Keane Godfrey Digne
Doucoure Davies Gomes
Rodriguez Richarlison

DCL, Iwobi and Sigurdsson came on as subs.

Doesn't look a lot stronger. Yes, we had Digne and James. But Allan was an unused sub, and we didn't have VDB, Gordon, Gray or Mykolenko.

Obviously we still have a bunch of problems that need to be fixed. Worst side in 70 years though ? I can't accept that, I believe that we're capable of better things.

I was convinced we'd gone on Thursday morning. I spent 24 hours in a haze, I couldn't talk to anyone. Worst, by a huge distance, of any depression I've had after a game before.

Yesterday was huge. I felt like I was having some sort of panic attack in the last 5 mins. My hands didn't stop shaking for about half an hour afterwards.

And today, thanks to Norwich, we are alive again. 9 points from here would see us safe I'd guess. That's achievable. Tough but achievable.

Perfectly sums up how I was mate. I was out with people on Friday, had to stop myself just going into an intense thousand yard stare and disengaging with others.

Met up with a good mate after the game and the pair of us were just emotional wrecks.

Yeah but the world class playmaker Rafael kicked out the door created the only goal.

As good as winning there was, I'm pretty sure the absence of 40,000 screaming fans (and all their injuries to key players we never heard the end of) would have been a significant factor in that result.

This time round, it's a free hit in some respects, let's go and give it a shot; but a full Anfield roaring their team on, putting pressure on our lads with every touch, and baying for blood every time the ref dares give anything not in the home favour will make a massive, massive difference versus a game played in an empty stadium.

We always play well at home - under Frank at least. Even when we played Man City and lost we played well. In fact we were robbed of a point. Why are we so good at home right now and relatively poor away from home?

Either way the players really gave their all against Man Utd and you could see that the win meant the world to them.
We play well at Goodison under Frank because since Frank was appointed the fans have rallied behind the players.

How in the name of all things holy have we not yet been in the bottom 3??!! Shows how rubbish the league is
Its only because the 3 below us have been so bad, we are extremely lucky when we have had our worst season in years that there is 3 teams as bad if not worse than us. Just need to survive and get this terrible season behind us.

9 behind the ball and all play like Godfrey did on Saturday and we get a point, if we try to play football we get battered.

Worries me a bit that most of Burnleys fixtures are against teams already on the beach.
West Ham Wolves still have Europe to play for, Spurs have top 4 to hold on to and Watford still are trying to survive. They also play Villa and Newcastle who will in a way be preparing for next season with there recently recruited managers, those games won’t be easy for Burnley. Also Burnley aren’t very good.

Against Liverpool we will have to sit back so they can’t hit us on the break as usual. Completely pack the midfield. Have Delph sweeping up with Allan VDB and Iwobi in front of him. Doucoure behind Richarlison who will chase anything knocked long. City played the ball down the channels to the space where Robertson and Alexander Arnold had vacated.
