Relegation Thread 25-26

Bad result for Spurs imo. Their record at Chelsea is so poor that I think it's going to the final day.

Would be great for the drama if West Ham could grab a win on Sunday at Newcastle. Can only see them getting at a draw though.
Even a point would have them selling out of Pampers over at White Hart Lane.

If they can keep the two point advantage, a draw against us will do them and we, no doubt, will be delighted to oblige.

But if the Hammers can get it back to one, then that would really ratchet up the tension. A poxy Hammers win on the last day would mean Spurs would have to win at home...something they haven't done since December.

Ah, Dr. Everton. So pleased you could come.

So which Big Match Revisited season will I watch this week, the one where West Ham went down or the one where Spurs went down?

Imagine being relegated with the likes of Trevor Brooking and Pat Jennings, and we stayed up with Doucoure...

Spuds have been fortunate to play an awful Wolves side and a missing Aston Villa to gain six vital points. They are still crap so I expect Leeds to at least give them a tough game and hopefully take points off them

They were fortunate to beat that Wolves side on the day too. Wham were unlucky v Arse. If Chelsea can just beat them then we can still live in hope however unlikely

If they finish 8th they can get europe

They are 5 points behind 8th with 6 points to play for so no idea why you think the highest they can finish is 13th
Roman, let it go. I disagreed with you over Newcastle's motivation in their game with West Ham - it's not that big a deal.

The way I see it is Newcastle are currently thirteenth; the clubs in twelfth, eleventh, tenth, ninth and eighth places are all more likely to get into Europe. I think the Newcastle players probably appreciate that even if you don't - they'll be thinking about their summer holidays.

You have "no idea why I think the highest they can finish is 13th" is because I never wrote that. I suggest that you reread my comment if you're that bothered. about having an arguement.

Now that Spurs are more likely to stay up, it's starting to hit me how hilarious it will be to see Championship games played at London Stadium. Lincoln at West Ham is going to be amazing to witness.

If West Ham don't immediately come back up I could also see them having some real long term trouble. Lots of variables though so we'll see.

That stadium isn't paid for by them. So they can shuffle big contracts out of the door, consolidate, then go again with a clean slate. Their core support might dwindle long term though.
