Phew, good job Luton didn't pick up anything from their last two games otherwise we would already have been down by now. (Sorry, can't remember the poster who said that but couldn't resist it).

Seriously, this thread should now be shifted off the Everton part of the forum and onto the other football sections because we aren't going anywhere but upwards.

…..popped into the Burnley forum, other than being delighted Gueye and Branthwaite miss next week this is the general view;

Anyone else getting Joe Royle '94 vibes at the moment? Specifically when he came in and a previously meek, disorganised team started bullying teams all over the park and then mixing in bits of skill when neccessary. We beat Liverpool 2-0, then Leeds 3-0 and didn't concede for about six matches.

The football feels exactly like that period, and the feel of the club too.

What so annoying is that on 23 points we’d be 14 above the third place drop and also probably about 9 points from getting a total that would keep us in the league. Thelwell would be able to plan for next season and prospective January targets would be confident we’d be in the league. Instead we’re still talking about a bloody relegation fight thanks to some lawyer from Leeds and an ex West Ham director.

….yep, ‘stickability’ was maybe a phrase from that time.

Perhaps time for a cheeky flutter on a cup win?

Who knows? 🤷‍♂️
