'There's a massive over-estimation of not having a strike-force' is a mad shout.

Not really. We've had no potent strike force in the games under Dyche and yet we've won two games out of 4, thus underlining the idiocy of thinking that you have to have a big CF bundling the ball over the line to get goals.

That represents an over-estimation IMO. And it is.

We have an attack, but it's not an attack with a sharp cutting edge and we're having to adapt to playing with their limitations.

What are you going on about? We have scored 17 goals all season, we’ve scored more than 1 goal in a game on TWO occasions, and I’m the one being unreasonable by suggesting we don’t score many goals? We quite clearly struggle to score goals and I’m not sure what you’re gaining by trying to pretend we don’t.
You're suggesting we wont score enough goals to stay up. I'm giving you the facts from the only 4 games that matter for analysis right now - those managed by Dyche - that suggest we can find a different way to get goals that win us the necessary points.

The bottom line here is that you and others have made up your minds that we wont get safe, and no reasonable pointing to the facts of the Dyche-led Everton's performances so far, or the correct pointing out of the atrocious nature of our fellow relegation rivals - which suggest a route to safety is still very much in play - will be allowed to penetrate your minds.

I don't think we will go down, but I expect it will be a stomach churningly close thing. We need the crowd to do what they did last season and give the lads on the pitch as much encouragement as possible. We need the players to buy into what Dyche is trying to do and we need Dyche to be brave and bin those who aren't buying into it.

But most of all we need our players to be braver when within shooting distance, they have to know that having a shot and skying it will be tolerated provided they have another go. So often when we see them getting close to the box, you can actually hear their arses squeaking and they start looking for someone, anyone to pass the ball to. As the others are mostly in a state of arse squeaking too, they don't make themselves available, so the ball goes back towards our defence.

We've also scored two goals in 4.

Fine margins indeed

Gray, one of our few players with a proven ability to score should be in.

Who cares? They got us 6 points.

Do you think Forest fans give a flying one that they've scored 18 goals all season?
I'd love to win enough games 1-0 to stay up. That would be great.

However, past results are not indicative of a sustainable model to win enough of those games going forward.

That's why any one of us should care

Is it possible we can win 5 games 1-0 the rest of this season to stay up? Sure. It's possible.

But that leaves zero room for error. I'd rather have the ability to sometimes, every once in a while, score two goals, which might enable us to have a better change of putting more points on the board

In the wins over Arsenal and Leeds and the defeat against Villa we could have scored easily enough three goals in each match.

If we'd only had underserving smash and grab wins your points would be valid. But that isn't the case. If we can get one in a game we can also get two and three.

I’m not making any predictions about anything actually, unlike you. I’m saying that we can’t score goals, because it’s just a fact. Our top scorer has 3.

Arsenal and even Leeds had several half chances to score as well though. Some of them pretty good ones. A lot needs to go right to grind out clean sheets.

You can look at it both ways.

Fail to win at Forest then looking at the 4 games after that we’ll be well adrift and all but done.
We have to win at Forest. People are deluding themselves that we can lose there and stay up. We can boost ourselves and drag Forest into the mire. At some point, we need to make a break for survival. A draw really isn't enough as it keeps Forest at arm's length. We need to be breathing down their necks.
