The luck we have with injuries was always going to send us down. We bought Garner to be a high level replacement so we don't have to play TD or AD if one of our first choice midfield 3 have to miss a game and of course he becomes a long term sicknkote. Add to DCL, Townsend's setback, Patterson meaning poor Coleman has to play every game which appears to be too much for him nowadays AND now Iwobi. It's all very Everton that.

I can't make up my mind if this lot are technically inept or if their collective confidence is shot to pieces and they are getting mixed tactical messages that they cannot process.

I'm fairly sure that they are better than the results that they have been getting and that their true position is probably around 12th.

Is there enough time and will amongst the players to turn it around? I'm not sure.

Moving forward I think that to have any chance of survival it will be by keeping games tight and trying to nick a goal.

Can't say I'm optimistic

There will come a time, possibly not too far away, when we say screw it, we're done. At that point we can all relax and let things run their course.
I must admit, given my own problems, I'm thinking that way already. It's probably common knowledge here that I'm the eternal optimist, always making light of what is actually a very dark situation, but I can't go on wasting my optimism on something I have no control over. It will be heartbreaking if the team I've supported for sixty years - the then First Division Champions - finally succumb, but nobody will have died, Everton will still be Everton and I will still support them with every breath in my seventy year old body in the hope they'll make it back to the Premier League in my lifetime.

Won’t change a thing…will be back into relegation zone in 2-3 games after win
Well yeah, but we’ll still have chances to get out of it. We don’t have that many winnable games left, if we lose to Southampton I genuinely think we’re done for, if we beat them then it’s at least an end to the current run, and shows that we can win some of this remaining games.

I suspect we’ll draw 0-0 with Southampton. Two terrible teams cancelling each other out (each manager terrified to lose).

That point will mean some naively retain faith in Lampard and focus their anger towards the bed (which is feutile as nothing is going to change there).

I really think we've had it this time. I just can't see anything positive to cling onto with this side. We can't say this hasn't been coming for years. Our demise has to be one of the most self-inflicted implosion's ever. There's no positives or upside to us going down. None at all, and anyone saying otherwise is just lying to themselves and coping with the situation as best they can. Regardless of what happens this season, go down or stay up, it has to be the beginning of the end now. We have to start protests against this administration asap and not let up until they go because nothing will ever change otherwise. These people are the enemies of Everton Football Club and until they've been purged we can never even begin to heal.

Why would you focus anger towards the bed? Is it uncomfortable? You could try a good memory foam mattress topper.
