The fan base do care. Look at the support last season. Look at the aftermath of the Crystal Palace game.

They’re exhausted with the emotional turmoil this club has inflicted on us. How many times can we lift them and ourselves?
Care about the club but don’t care about getting rid of the board, which is the problem, half the match fans cheer bill still despite the fact the clubs gone from best of the rest to certs for relegation

I never argued that it wouldn't be absolutely disastrous for us to be relegated. It 100% would be. It'll be up with the worst days in the clubs entire history and at best it would take years to undo the damage. I just don't buy into the idea that the club would disappear and go under because of it.
I do t think they mean liquidation I think they mean we go down and down and down.
Relegation is instantly a loss of 90 million, plus we have to sell 90% of the team(no loss) an try to rebuild with nothing

I have accepted that relegation is inevitable now. I'm not even upset like I was last season. Its what we deserve as a club and you know what? As disastrous as it'll be some positives could even come from it. If relegation and a spell in the championship is what it takes to finally get rid of Moshiri, Kenwright and the vermin on the board then its a price worth paying because we'll never get better with them here. Sometimes things have to get worse for them to get better and you have to hit rock bottom in order to pick yourself up.

We'd find out who the real fans where and who was just here to watch premier league togger.

We might have a chance to actually win something for once.

There would be far less cringeworthy hipsters and members of the prawn sandwich brigade ruining every single match with their laughable behaviour.

It'll be a nightmare but there's who go through it and stick by the club will come out the stronger.
Problem is that relegation might not be enough to get rid of moshiri and Co...he is going to want to at least get his money back. No buyers will come close to his valuation of the club.

He wants out mate now mate. He'll have people telling him that there's no way that he'll make all his money back and that's why he's lost interest in the club and hasn't been seen at Goodison in forever. A quickfire sale once the stadium is finished is the quickest way for him to take the smallest possible loss.

The guy is an accountant that makes his money from the work of others. I can tell you that he will not go unless he gets at least what he has put in. This is why he is still there as there was interest from other parties earlier in the season but it sounds to me that they are miles away in relation to the valuation of the club.

Then he'll die owning the club and his family will sell it for buttons because there's no way that he'll ever make all his money back, never mind make a profit. Even with the new stadium that was never going to happen.

If we get relegated, his plan will be to wait until we are back in the premier league and playing in the new stadium...at that point he will make his money back easy.

To get us back into the Premier league will require investment. Big investment. Investment that he's not prepared to make. So he'll have a choice of either trying to rebuild the club on a shoestring in the hope that it'll pay off (and considering his lack of interest in the club and his inability to build something even with decent money I'd that's unlikely) all as the clubs value goes down by the day and his chances of getting his money back becomes less and less likely.

Or he makes a quick sale when the stadium is at its newest and shinnyest for the most he can get and cuts his losses instead of throwing more good money after bad.

We got lucky last year that there were somehow 3 worse teams than us in the league.

I think we will get the same luck this season, but sooner or later we will go down.

unfortunately if your gurgle around the plug hole long enough eventually it's your turn. I'm a Villa fan and can see parallels to when we went down to where you are now. Every season just doing enough and a streak at the right time will catch up on you. Luckily you're not at the depths we were - where you've gone through the toxicity to where players are just ridiculed and laughed at because they're so inept. What is also going for you is that the season's not even half-way through yet so replacing the manager will give you time to change things around, but it needs to be done before the Jan window closes otherwise there's little point in doing it. A name I haven't seen mentioned is Kompany - would he change Burney for an ailing Everton? Possibly.

Most definitely mate, can see the comparisons to what you went through a few years ago. Just a rancid place at the moment.

Kompany working wonders at Burnley, but the ways he done it... Must have been hard changing the whole mentality at the club to the way they play now.

However, being honest why would he want to leave that?

I really don’t think they do.

Sack the board chants yesterday?

They know.

Because you're Everton and they're Burnley. he's only one poor run away from the sack at Burnley, and then Prem clubs won't be interested. Its still a step-up in terms of ambition (of sorts) and size, and he won't jump from Burnley to man City or a club of that ilk.

I see relegation as being 100% bad for the club and we must try our utmost to avoid it.

Still, if it comes to pass I can and will rationalise it.

It matters less for me what actual league we are in more the club giving me something I can identify with and get behind.

I can do neither of those things with the club in its current state.

We have been making up the numbers in the PL since its inception and nothing more.

In terms of "support", it's difficult to conceptualise given the emotional attachment.

I will always follow the club but I find it almost impossible to support, when you get nothing but disappointment in return.

I would honestly gain more from seeing the team play well at a level it can sustain, whilst always aiming to improve and progress.

If we do go down we'll just have to hope we don't get overwhelmed by the football and financial shock, and can get our house in order.

It's that old devil again, hope.
