Having seen that Probert has been appointed our ref for Saturday on twitter and people not particularly happy, the question struck me who do people think are the best and worst refs in the league? Interested to see how varied the response is. I think Dowd is the best and Moss or Oliver the worst.

Every referee you have heard of are bad IMO.

Sergeant Howard Webb does a great job especially when reffing liverpool games

Yeah Dowd is the best one out there at the moment, also think Oliver's decent as well.

Atkinson is probably the worst.

I think generally Webb is by far the worst.

They're all pants. Some are more pants than others.

Clattenbastard will always have the biggest share of my loathing but I think Lee Mason makes the most strange decisions.

Lee Mason over the course of the past 2/3 seasons has been the worst. Anthony Taylor has given him a good run for his money this season though.

The standard has slipped over the last few years but I think it's Dowd and Webb, despite yesterday.

Him and John Moss are the 2 worst for me, terrible terrible refs. John Moss can't get around the pitch let alone ref a game. Anthony Taylor has given pens against us when we played Villa (a) and Fulham (h) but when Baines goes down to Gary Medel against Cardiff and it's a stonewall pen he didn't even give it.

So much this (assuming you mean "worst")... Incredibly out of shape, stops the play every 30 seconds as he's knackered and wants a breather.

Dowd is my favourite.

He doesn't seem like he has a big team complex, which sticks out most in my memory is the John Terry red card in the first couple of minutes a few years ago. Best of a bad bunch.

Not saying Webb, he's the type of Ref who wants the game to be about him, will lash out a couple of early yellows early on regularly, which makes the game lose some of it's fluency imo.

I'd say Clattenburg, Mariner, Probert and Atkinson are the worst. The latter being my most disliked, due to the fact, he seems to despise us, i can't remember him having a good game for us EVER, and is usually loves something controversial.

Past favourites have included Durkin, and Barry Knight. Hated Winter, Ellerey and Rennie.
