The rain, it raineth every day
Too many teams
Players over tired
'Big' teams and players flattered to deceive, Spain excepted.
The 'unfancied ' nations played with a pleasing joie de vivre, but we're lacking a little tactical acumen.
The games have got better for the squeaky bum time.
VAR and referees, by and large, much better than we have to suffer.
England surprised us all - be honest, in the main we've played crap, but we have the individual talent to win.

Thoughts ?

England fans wanted Southgate gone during this tournament which shows the entitlement and IQ of England fans are at opposite ends of the scale. They clearly don’t know the game.

Thoughts ?
awful pitches
a game fixing convicted referee
some var calls that would make toney blush
slow draws not attempting to play games
more head injuries than the totality of the Somme
commentary that was considered to harsh for stasi mental torture
and the media ejaculation-festival of hypocrisy getting behind gareths lions

No Ta !

There have been some sensational long-range goals. It's like Mexico 86 and Vasily Rats in excelsis. Both semi-finals had glorious long rangers. The group stages were riddled with them. Arda Güler versus Georgia sticks in my mind.

Young players have been to the forefront: Arda, Yamal, Williams, Musiala, Wirtz, Bellingham. The future is bright.

Portugal, France, Belgium, and Croatia are at the end of their roads. Redbuilding required.

Italy haven't even started on theirs. They will be down for years.

Germany are on the way back.

Spain have played like Brazil 82 at times...and we know how that finished.

Summed it up perfectly, can't think of anything to add to that

Even though all those things mentioned above were probably true, it could have been a good tournament.

Once again, football is spoiled by "no contact allowed" interpretation of the rules by referees and, particularly, VAR ...

Indicative of modern football on the whole for me. Possession is king. A sideways and backwards borefest with barely a tackle in the matches. Like most football i seem to watch these days tedious, unexciting crap.
