Ref analysis of Tarkowski handball.

VAR is marketed like it’s some impartial machine — a robot that removes human error from football. But it isn’t AI and it isn’t 100% computer-driven. Every decision still comes down to people in a control room choosing which frame to freeze, where to draw the line, and what counts as ‘clear and obvious.’ That’s not objectivity — that’s human judgment. And human judgment means bias. All VAR has really done is move the referee’s subjectivity from the pitch into a booth, and when you watch who benefits from those calls, it’s hard not to notice the big clubs come out on top.

When you watch decisions week in, week out, you can’t shake the sense that big clubs benefit more from those subjective calls — whether it’s subconscious pressure (“we can’t ruin the title race”) or plain old brand protection.

When barristers are at Bar School, they play at arguing a particular side of the argument then at half time, swap to argue against the initial argument on the other side. These clowns do this, argue one side of the debate for a Sly6, and argue the other side for the Plebs.

I truly despise those in charge of modern football
Look at mr “switch-side debating” here!! 😂

I hate the whole PGMOL because this is exactly what they do… and they’re not particularly good at it IMO

I mean that video shows four referees all agreeing that he's handled the ball deliberately. They felt in real time and on replay that it was an intentional playing of the ball and as such he can't use his arm, period.

I know we all disagree, but that's all there really is to it. And yes there will be other similar decisions where the referees decide it wasn't deliberate and yes you know which clubs will benefit from those. But it is probably time to move on.

And also stop playing Tarkowski because he's going to do this nonsense again.

5 letter name, let's do it like wordle...

These things always come.e back to haunting the Sky/PL. They make a decision like this, then in a few weeks time a player for the 6 gets hit in the same situation and they then have to go through all sorts of hoops to argue it isnt the same when they don't award the penalty.
Zero credibility these Sky mouthpieces
There was no need to wait a few weeks; less than a week later, the Man City goalie touched the ball outside the penalty area in exactly the same manner as Tarkowski V Leeds. No action was taken.

You could hear their excitement right from the off, was never going to be anything but a penalty. They were orgasmic over it and any common sense was left on the doorstep. I would love to find the person that can deliberately lean into a deflected ball with a 0.001 response time. You would have to be a marvel character. Worse still their chief agrees with it. Honestly, when you see something like that it shows just how goosed from top to bottom officiating is in this country.
