Red Card Stuff

It would have been a lot more convenient if hed just carried on and challenged for the ball in the air his judgement is awful as is his passing.

but even if he did not challenge the ball in the air he should have just kept up with gerrard and nudged him enough to throw off his shot as Howard was already almost there. Hibbo and clattenburgermaker (his future job) lost us the game. Dimwits.

Lets face it, if you're Steven Gerrard and you're one on one in the box, rather just dive so the money you paid the ref will actualy count

Snatched 3 million from Beneathus's purse (not a man purse) while he was applying his makeup and trying to add 8+2 (unsuccessfully) in his pathetic excuse for a brain type mush in his skull.

Benitez is definitely the master of the game
"We deserved to win, they were playing long balls."
"I think in England you dont like to see players diving, so it was suprising to me".
Lescott dived with glory, come on, it was blatant he threw himself Rafael you poes

Well that Gerrard dived is one of those things but he should never have been allowed to get near the area, a foul outside would have been a ticking off or yellow.

I happen to agree with Ghost on Hibbert, if we want the club to climb then quite simply Hibbert is not good enough for us. Add to that IMO neither is Osman or Neville. This trio are for me our weakness but regrettably the manager keeps giving them the nod.

Careful RobertJarvis, you don't want to join my bully gang there. Take the safe option and disagree with me. ;)

[Poor language removed] this.

As I said yesterday, there's a time and a place for this and I don't think now is it. I suspect deep down that most on here agree that Hibbert isn't worth his place at the moment but right now I feel proud of our boys, not just for the way they played but for the way they acted in the face of incredible provocation. I was going absolutely beserk at home so I can't imagine what the players and manager wanted to do, yet they managed to keep their cool (unlike the gobshites across the park).

So yes, right now I'm proud of the boys and proud to be a Blue. The recriminations can wait for another day.

Yeah that's fine, but I'm sick of being attacked by certain sections. I know that certain players are not performing well, and I'm sorry that I want to see my club at the top and not in mediocrity. I know that one player out of synch can disrupt the whole machine. If that wasn't the case then we wouldn't have sold Davies or Kilbane, or Beattie for that matter.

Hibbert may do well at other clubs but lets be honest he hasn't had much competition in that position so he has had a free run at it, and in my opinion he isn't doing a good enough job.

I believe I am in the right because if I feel I am in the wrong then why have a debate. Dom said that he thought he had improved but then said that he lacks positioning and marking, which is a key requirement for any defender. I said that I disagreed and felt that other people agreed with me, thus justifying my comment. I was in no way shape or form attempting to bully anyone and I find that kind of accusation completely out of order.

To be perfectly honest Ghost I really couldn't give a [Poor language removed] about Hibbert, as Bruce says that is for another day. Substitute Hibbo for any of our lads and the fact remains that the Liverpool captain deliberately got our lad sent off.........and that is what sticks in my throat. We should not be imploding with self criticism but realising that our lads did ever so well and will have gained the respect of the nation whilst the [Poor language removed] become even more contemptible, if that is possible(y)

Hibbert isn't playing well, everyone can see that, I don't see the point in highlighting the fact right now, it's like shooting fish in a barrel. People are by and large feeling pretty pissed off that we lost that game yesterday because there were some absolute shocking decisions against us, real stinkers. I doubt you'll find anyone that will say Hibbo will be our right back when we win the Premier League, so I don't see the point in having a go at this precise moment because it comes across as putting down the team after they've been robbed of a derby win.

Right now we have a common enemy in the referee and the Liverpool players/manager. Hibbo will be out for a few games so we have ample time to try someone else at right back. Lets just leave it at that :)

Well there is nothing anyone can ever do about the ref/liverpool players/liverpool managers. This thread has mutated into criticism about Hibbert and rightly so, he is having a mare of a season and I would like to see some changes.

But...

Gerrard was found in that position because Hibbert was out of position and lacked pace and intelligence to prevent a) the ball getting to Gerrard in the area, b) making a timely tackle.

So if he is fish in a barrell, its his own fault and he needs to work on his game because quite frankly he isn't a shining star by a long chalk, and in my opinion is the weak link in a pretty strong chain.

The thread is about red cards and the issue for any blue is how our lad got sent off, end of. When you have a [Poor language removed] bag doing what Gerrard did I find it astonishing that you would rather moan about Hibbo than have a go a the real culprit

Gerrard is a [Poor language removed] head, there is no doubt there. My point is that we should never have gotten to the situation where there was a penalty and a red card.

That's my point. If we defended better for the second penalty we may not have seen Neville having to sacrifice himself for a penalty/red card.

For the record, what good is it going to do having a go at Gerrard all day. [Poor language removed] all, because in the great scheme of things Gerrard is obviously more important than our players. But lets be honest, Arteta has tried to get players sent off before, so maybe Gerrard was just doing what anyone in his situation would do. It was the ref who made a mistake in bringing out the yellow and then the red.

But the fact still remains Hibbert was out of position and failed to deal with Gerrard the way any good defender should do. He just made the decision much easier for the ref.
