How do you know this though ? Have you spoken to them ? Have you spoken to Bill or anybody at the club ?? I'll guess the answer is no so all your scaremongering bollox is purely hypothetical.

How do I know what, mate?

How do I know that Mourinho, Klopp, Guardiola, Heynckes, Del Bosque, Löw, Mancini, Laudrup, Pereira, Tuchel, Pellegrini, Bilic, Klinsmann, Di Matteo, Blanc, Bielsa et al would only be interested in a job with a big club?

I'd say that's a fairly safe assumption.

I wouldn't say we are small time, as out of 92 clubs we're currently 6th in the top division and our history alone suggests we are a big club.

What I do agree with however, is the lacklustre calibre of manager we are attracting.

I reckon one of two things will happen. First off the board convince themselves Martinez is the man and its toss of a coin at this point whether we progress, stagnate, or drop like a lead baloon.

Secondly, there is a possibility the board go into the vaults and dust off those gold bars and in true Everton transfer style pull out some up and coming manager that we never expected out of literally the blue and provide him with a modest transfer budget of funds we never had.

Some people may think that the board just leech off the club and put nothing in, but sometimes you can't get out of it, and right now, they can't get out of it. Something is going to happen and something's got to give.

One of the main reasons we will not attract a top manager is our lack of european football

This.

People don't seem to realise, but there's 32 places in the Champions League each year. Champions League is the big time, and that's 32 teams which offer something we don't.

If you're not in Europe at all, never mind the CL, then it will obviously be very hard to attract the top managers.

Are Liverpool a small club lad?

They struggled to find a top manager when replacing KKK and had to settle for Rodgers, Why would we be any different to them?

Brenda was our top choice when we did that massive poll a year or so ago. He was highly-regarded, as his Swansea team finished mid-table and played nice football (rather than playing nice football and getting relegated, like Martinez).

no..how do you know if we have or haven't approached any of those named ?? all you are going on is speculation.

They went around europe whoring themselfs about, Putting the feelers around every top manager, There top man said they where looking at Pep ffs

There first pick was Martinez who knocked them back after learning they wanted a director of football in place, Rodgers was the back up

Do you honestly think if Liverpool could have attracted a world class manager they would have plucked Rodgers from Swansea after one season in the prem

Soooo, you're saying we're not a big club, but neither are Liverpool?

I just remember how immensely-regarded Brenda was back then. He was the Laudrup of now. And Laudrup I would love to see managing us.

I didn't know they went for Martinez...and that he refused. He's gone up in my estimation based on that alone. Still not convinced he's good enough for us to push top-4, tho'.
