ЭВЭРТОН

Player Valuation: £500k
Having seen the footer used (listed at the bottom) by one or two of the members on the site regarding players linked with a move to Everton so far this close season, some of which have turned my stomach, I thought I might start a thread to see who the fans may actually want to see join the club and at what price they feel would be reasonable enough for us to afford.

Please afford an explanation of your reasoning behind each target.

Silly Season So Far: Krankjar, McCarthy, Trochowski, Owen, Bangoura, Smithies, Ledley, Mancienne, Aquilani, Elia, Jo, Suazo, Subotic, Martins, Neill, M'Bia, Doyle, Hunt, Fanni, Mattock, Eagles, Peterlin, Dzeko, Crouch, Jenas, Huddlestone, Marcellis, Moutinho, Love, Topal, Turan, Naughton, Delph, Scharner, Van der Vaart, Gomez, Defour, Pantelic, Witsel, Smith, Hutton, Niang, Matiuidi, Kana-Biyik, Keita, Miguel, Iganashevich, Sesma, Cana, Berg, Dempsey, Scholes, Van Nistlerooy, Mustafi, Vertonnhen, Morrison, Tuncay, Obinna, Samba, Pennant, Guiza, Reyes, Bradley, Sessegnon, Beye, Gudjohnson, Saviola, Scharner, Cisse, Puyol, Bentley, Beckford, Richards, Chamakh, Garbutt, Zichue, Lewis, Reo Coker, Sanchez, Gyan, Adeleye, O Neill, Commons, Yebda, Walker, Torrejon, Elm, Upson, Arnoux, Dos Santos, Turner, Lawrie.

Niko Kranjcar (Portsmouth) – attacking midfield, left Wing, right wing – £10-12m

Would fill our creativity vacuum in the absence of Mikel Arteta short term. Could be a welcome replacement for Steven Pienaar should he seek pastures new. Endured a difficult last season through injury, maybe looking for a move after seeing Portsmouth’s ambition take a nosedive.

Brede Hangeland (Fulham) – central defender - £10-12m

With Lescott seemingly on his way to Manchester City we may need to spend big to secure the services of two Premiership class central defenders considering Jagielka is also out till November.

Michael Turner (Hull) – central defender - £7-8m

Considering our budget constraints he may well be an affordable option should we not be able to sign a higher profile defender. He could prove somewhat of a poor man’s John Terry – something I wouldn’t be too disappointed with.

Daniel Agger (Liverpool) – central defender, right back £6-8m

Has never caught the imagination of the squanderous Rafael Benitez. Would solve our central defensive problems short term and possibly replace Tony Hibbert at right back further down the line, should he seek more regular first team opportunities.

Wes Brown (Man Utd) – right back, central defender £7-9m

May once again find himself warming the bench should Rafael make the right back position his own this season, can also play in the centre of defence.

Jack Collison (West Ham) – left midfielder, central midfield £6-9m

What we would undoubtedly be paying for here is potential, however, in his reasonably short time in the first team at Upton Park Collison has had a big impact among the hammers faithful with them raving about his composure on the ball and his range of passing. Would be my preferred signing should our current left sided midfielder vacate.

Junior Stanislas (West Ham) – left midfielder £4-5m

Was very effective when called upon in Jack Collison’s absence due to a knee injury.
He is fast, direct has good vision and provides a decent goal threat. Definitely one to develop for the future.

Joe Ledley (Cardiff) – central midfielder, left winger £4-5m

One for David Moyes to develop, he has the potential to break into our first team before the end of next season. Already a Welsh international with 22 caps, Ledley’s low price reflects the fact he only has 12 months remaining on his current contract.

Joao Moutinho (Sporting Lisbon) central midfielder, right midfielder - £20m

‘The Moot’ would prove something of a luxury purchase and may only happen if one or two of the current squad depart for big money, however, he is a gifted player whose arrival would transform Everton into a creative force to contend with the big four. His ability to pick open a defence is highly regarded on his native shores as is his workrate and command of the midfield. He is considered the best box to box player in the Portuguese league. Should Real Madrid fail to make a solid bid, he may consider a move to Everton.

Alan Hutton (Tottenham) right back £5-6m

A current target of the toffees, he would offer an attacking outlet at right back and would strongly consider a move closer to his native Scotland having seen the arrival of Kyle Naughton threaten to push him down to fourth choice right back at spurs.

Tuncay Sanli (Middlesbrough) Striker - £6-8m

Not a position we are desperate to strengthen but nevertheless a very useful player to have in your attack. his finishing and link up play would add to our potency, which can only be good.

Getting the post count ticking over!

For me, i'd like Hutton, Elm and Defour, for reasons stated in other threads.
