Realistic shouts for a second striker

I'd take a closer at rondon, we'd get him for about £10mil.

Whilst we're talking about a striker to fit in the koeman system. We had one, his name was Steven Naismith. He would have given that high pressure that RK wants from his strikers. Not saying he's world class or anything like that but I reckon he would have been even more of handful than he was under RM.

Rondon cost WBA £12m and not done that bad there. Would be around £15m plus in the current world of insane prices. I do quite like the cart horse that he is though.

I think we sometimes forget, although a good guy he was a very, very, very, very average football player and we are looking in a different level now......

Valencia seem to be struggling massively with FFP so are selling players. Have they not got any sexy Spaniards who wouldn't mind strutting there stuff for the blues?

Paco Alacer is basically the Spanish Defoe but considering he just turned down a move to Barca I can't see him coming to us

So you basically got your own topic/thread wrong... in the OP?

Anyway - Shane Long. Hope he gets shirt number 69 and puts SH. LONG on the back. Absolutely no other reason than that, but at least it's a realistic purchase.

Long's just signed a contract extension at S'ton mate :)

Well I am sure he didn't turn them down as he considers himself too good for them; likely he doesn't fancy being 94th choice striker for them. Why sit on their bench when he can sit on ours lol

He turned them down because he is born and bred Valencia mate - wanted to stay at the club by all accounts

though aye I'm sure the thought of playing 4th fiddle wasn't that appealing to him
