Realistic position in the League

I'm going to say 7th and be realistic. As someone pointed out we struggle against the lesser teams too often. They seem to park the bus against us and we dont have the creativity to open them up. The " better teams' are more willing to attack which seems to give us more options against them. Having said all that if and a big if we can put the lesser teams to the sword on a regular basis then maybe we can get 5th or with a bit of luck even 4th.

I'd argue that with the additions of Naismith, Mirallas, and Pienaar, we now do have that creativity we were lacking before. I don't expect us to struggle nearly as much. We'll drop a few that we shouldn't, but for the most part, I'd expect us to pick up max points against the bottom half.

Bit too early for all this i would think...if i was to take a guess based on our performance and the other teams, then I would say 5th or 6th. Definitely would think we would make an improvement from last season.

Ask me after 10 games...

It's odd how we have changed over the past few years. During the time we finished 5th and were battling with Villa for those few seasons we always seemed to beat the teams around us comfortably but barely took a point off the top 4. Now it seems we do well against the top sides but struggle to beat those around and below us. I know it's harder when teams don't attack so much but it's hardly like we were Barcelona-esque during 2006-2009.

5th is the best we could hope for, but with the small squad we have i think it will be tough to finish above the below.

City
Chelsea
United
Arsenal
Spurs
Newcastle
