Generally after a World Cup, standards of the league drop off, and many players take a while to get upto speed.

Well 3 of our players were part of the England circus, and 2 of them have been destroyed by the media over it.

7 of our key players were at the World Cup, and many of them very young. They need a good break, and Ross going to the U21's is the last thing he needs.

All is not hopeless this season. I cannot see many teams beating us in Europa and whilst it's not seen as a major trophy, I would still be quite pleased if we could win well in the final.

Also there is not chance we are winning the Europa. A Napoli or a Roma would have a field day against us.

pretty sure you'd look at a team like wolfsburg thrashing bayern and say exactly the same though tbh. they're up there with those two imo. europe is totally different to the prem and we've seemed so much more assured. i don't think we'll win it, we'll probably do something stupid like getting knocked out to young boys after finishing top of that tough group

think the arsenal game knocked us back mentally. you accept that the odd game you're going to concede a late goal and drop two points, but doing it in your first two games and being on 2 points instead of 6 is already a hammer blow.
