Ready.....Steady....Go!!

Turns out even the ones you think are decent blokes are absolute kin dickheads. Ah well

Since Friday morning we have been continually lied to by Glasner and he's obviously decided he wants sacking this weekend. The revelation that he'd agreed with the clue to announce that he wasn't signing a new deal on Friday is the cherry on top of a couple of days that I think have really stained his legacy here. I honestly thought that wasn't possible but he's managed it

I would try to focus on the cup he delivered. I thought myself it was underhanded coming out like that, but perhaps he has just reached the end of his tether. Players sold out and from under him and having to deal with a European campaign without the bodies to cope, is tarnishing his record as CP manager anyway.

If he wasn't expecting us to take the money for Guehi while we still can having already given up on 15m more in the summer to keep him happy more fool him. Eze was a release clause as well, he was always going. I don't think he understands very well what it's like to run a club at our level and to be honest given his strops at Frankfurt and Wolfsburg I'm not sure anyone could keep him happy

Amazed he hasn't been sacked. What good will it do us having him chucking Molotovs in every press conference and calling the squad players useless every week

He may well be fully understanding of the desire to take the dough for Guehi now. Eze as well and whoever else has been sold.

Isn't it more a case that there has been not enough activity in bringing players in? Certainly in terms of first team players / squad players it seems like the squad is very thin given you qualified for Europe. Correct me if I'm wrong but bringing in one 19 year old centreback seems like it leaves you very thin at the back considering the transfers the last couple of seasons.

For instance Guehi is on 33 apps this season (according to wikipedia if I'm incorrect again) with many players around the 30 mark already. It's no coincidence the wheels have come off during Dec / Jan if players are hitting those numbers already.

Do agree though that he's handled it very poorly by going public in such a manner. Stinks of tools down.

Looks like there was an agreement to keep him. I agree with you, better to have 15m than to leave on a free, but if Guehi helped get you say 2 places higher in the league and and win the conference then, you more than make up for that 15m loss and that's perhaps what they shook on.

If Parish et all sat him down in December and said he's going to have to go, but we'll get you X, Y and Z to make up for it then you probably don't get to this situation. I can see it from the ownership side too though, creep towards the 40 point mark and just write off the season. If you know Glasner is going are you going to sign a load of players that a new manager might not want. Catch-22.

Mateta jumping ship, too?
Last big contract he'll get. Must look at Eze and his options and improved finance and think 'me to!'. His boss isn't happy that the side has been taken as far as it can, so he's off. There's no secret a couple of the rest of the side are off. Why should he be committed when no one else is?
Big rebuild at Palace, similar big rebuild at Fulham. A WC summer isn't the best time for it.

Be thankful of a bit of stability...

They win their first ever major trophy(I'm discounting the Zenith data systems cup that i was at) not much more than 6 months ago and it seems to be dismantling very very quickly.
I wonder if palace fans wondered around the cup win time if they'd kick on or thought we've reached our pinnacle now.
I think the mood was that although we would continue to need to sell one or two decent players every season, we would now attract good replacements and be able to kick on. At that time we thought we were in the Europa League and our League form was great.
What could possibly go wrong?

Brennan johnson 🤒

( Just as Kudos got injured aswell )
Think as mince to go there whilst they are in a state of flux.

Mind you he is with that adult porn star Lily something or other so what do you expect.

Sad for Palace fans but who's next after Mateta ? Wharton and the Munoz I suppose.
