RB Leipzig

RBL News

- As many will know, club drawn against the [Phrase removed] in the CL Last 16 with ties set in Feb/March.
- Still lots of talk regarding Salzburg's Dominik Szoboszlai reported Winter transfer to Leipzig. Apparently news will be broke at some point this week with wherever he is going. Won't get my hopes up though as Haaland didn't come in the end either.
- Team are away to Hoffenheim tomorrow night who have to contend with a disciplinary nightmare themselves. 3 players are definitely missing through suspension and they could also lose their keeper after he publically called out the ref as the 12th man after the Leverkusen defeat.
- Unavailable RBL players: Klostermann, Laimer, Henrichs, Nkunku (injury), Samardzic, Hwang (COVID)
- Nagelsmann is linked with the vacant Dortmund job.
- Lukas Klostermann returns to training after being out with knee surgery. Won't see him play till next year though.
- The December 22nd cup games vs Augsburg will now go ahead as planned. RBL had wanted to move the game into the new year to allievate schedule build up as had been successful for Bayern and Leverkusen but Augsburg rejected it.

Asking the team to move the game to help their schedule is definitely a move Klopp will steal in the future.

Got stuck in a stupid works Christmas Zoom party last night so had to record the game. Won 1-0 which moved then joint 2nd and 1 point behind Leverkusen. Apparently the game was trash however woken up to some good news...

Glad Szoboszlai is getting the move up to a team that should use him properly.

Also glad to see the cartel opening up a spot in the team for Salzburg's new American midfielder.

RBL’s final league game of the calendar year at home to FC Köln. Win this and it’s a 100% home record so far this season.

Injury crisis at the club currently ahead of this and next week’s cup game vs Augsburg with up to 9 out injured.

Last game of the calendar year is a cup trip to away to Augsburg in the second round of the DFB-Pokal. Same squad available from the weekend.

Game is not live on TV but possibly live on the German FA's YouTube channel.

Reports also in today that the club have lost out to Man United in the race for Independiente's (Ecuador) central midfielder Moises Caicedo. Can categorically say I've never heard of him.
