Philw

Player Valuation: £50m
Howard: 8 - Didn't really notice him much, but saved us at the end with the penalty. Don't think there was anything he could have done with either penalty.

Coleman: 9 (Motm) - Superb performance. Handled Defoe when they swapped him onto him after he came on. Got forward brilliantly, even before setting up Saha. Good tackling and some good positionin/interceptions. Tackled one of their players onto the dirt at the side of the pitch. Involved in both goals. Showed the drive and passion we need to move back up the table.

Hibbert: 7.5 - Did very well in general, but was partly to blame for first goal, and gave away the peno. To many times as well Defoe or Crouch got free, but he also made some good to excellent tackles. Good performance considering his position.

Neill: 5 - Maybe a bit harsh, but at fault for both goals, and while Hibbo did a good job in a strange position, can't say the same for Neill.

Baines: 6.5 - Did ok for me. Tbh can't really remember much that stood out, but did get forward quite well, and had a decent free kick. Delivery in the final third (not just him) was generally poor tho.

Bilyetdinov: 6 - Didn't really get into the game. Half decent shot near the end after a nice dribble, and some other decent passes, but not enough of a threat. Poor set pieces.

Fellaini: 7 - Walked a thin line for a while after getting booked unfairly, but regained composure well. Played well in the first but faded a bit i think after half time, maybe being too cautious.

Cahill: 6.5 - Pretty quiet most of the game. Didn't go over the top on Ekotto when he easily could have. Right place at the right time for the equaliser.

Pienaar: 7.5 - Effort and industry was good as usual, our main source of inspiration for most of the game, but gave away the ball a few times trying to do too much.

Rodwell: 7 - Can't remember his booking but i'm sure it also was unwarranted. Did ok for me. A bit trigger happy, think he needs to forget about those two European screamers and keep things simple.

Jo: 7 - Thought he did well today. Some good efforts at goal, and some nice play to get others involved going forward. Still too many offsides and balls bouncing off him tho.

Yobo: N/A - Looks like he shouldn't have played, as apparently the hamstring got him early on.

I will just do the ones I disagree with.......

Fellaini - 9 Thought his was awesome. Got booked for nothing, gave it and took it. All over the place (in a good way)

Jo - 4 Before his substitution. A clear 10 after his substitution. Might even be in for MotM for his contributions on the pitch after Saha and Yak came on.

Howard - 9 - For his peno save alone, at first look I think he could have done better with Spurs 1st goal, i.e coming off his line to stop the cross, but as I say, peno save.
Coleman - 10 - The Irish Cafu.
Baines - 8 - I love Baines me.
Hibbert - 7 - He did ok, few fingers to point, but not bad.
Neil - 6 - Not great, not bad.
Billy - 5 - I thought he was pretty poor myself.
Fellaini - 7 - Average from the big man, but got stuck in well.
Rodwell - 6 - So, so from Jack, never really got going.
Cahill - 8 - Average really, great goal tho, bonus points given.
Pienaar - 7 - Full of running but never really allowed to get into the game.
Jo - 7 - Poor at times, average at others.
Saha - 8 - Along with Coleman changed the game, great goal and great overhead kick.
Yakubu - 5 - Pretty awful really.

Thought he didn't have his best of games, and I'm a big fan of him. The penalty dave was probably season changing for us, so I agree.

Coleman: 9 (Motm) - Superb performance. Handled Defoe when they swapped him onto him after he came on. Got forward brilliantly, even before setting up Saha. Agreed, what a performance.

Hibbert: 7.5 - Did very well in general, but was partly to blame for first goal, and gave away the peno. To many times as well Defoe or Crouch got free, but he also made some good to excellent tackles. Good performance considering his position.
MOM for me during first half. Had a little dip at the start of the 2nd hald and was a reckless challenge for the penalty. No more than a 7 in the end.

Neill: 5 - Maybe a bit harsh, but at fault for both goals, and while Hibbo did a good job in a strange position, can't say the same for Neill.
Agreed, expected a lot more from him. Dissapointing uptill now.
Baines: 6.5 - Did ok for me. Tbh can't really remember much that stood out, but did get forward quite well, and had a decent free kick. Delivery in the final third (not just him) was generally poor tho.
Agreed.

Bilyetdinov: 6 - Didn't really get into the game. Half decent shot near the end after a nice dribble, and some other decent passes, but not enough of a threat. Poor set pieces.
Started brightly and could've scored if Pienaar found him. 6 is about right.
Fellaini: 7 - Walked a thin line for a while after getting booked unfairly, but regained composure well. Played well in the first but faded a bit i think after half time, maybe being too cautious.
Was impressed by the big Belgian tbh. Certainly not afraid to get stuck in. Doesn't get the rub of the green for me. At least a 7,5.

Cahill: 6.5 - Pretty quiet most of the game. Didn't go over the top on Ekotto when he easily could have. Right place at the right time for the equaliser.
Agreed

Pienaar: 7.5 - Effort and industry was good as usual, our main source of inspiration for most of the game, but gave away the ball a few times trying to do too much.
Agreed

Rodwell: 7 - Can't remember his booking but i'm sure it also was unwarranted. Did ok for me. A bit trigger happy, think he needs to forget about those two European screamers and keep things simple.
The booking was a joke. Never a yellow card. Did very well again

Jo: 7 - Thought he did well today. Some good efforts at goal, and some nice play to get others involved going forward. Still too many offsides and balls bouncing off him tho.
Glad I'm not the only one.

Yobo: N/A - Looks like he shouldn't have played, as apparently the hamstring got him early on.

Good team effort and pleased with the point.

I know Hibbert had a couple of last moment tackles, but for me his positioning was absolutely awful way too many times today; plus he was at fault with penalty. Neill did better IMHO. It should be 5 for Hibbert and 5 or 6 for Neill.

Billy Boy was very disappointing today, also despite being quite patient, I am losing patience with Jo offsides.

Howard - 8/10 Crouch was there to be decapitated before their second goal. Decent penalty save, not sure on the pasta legs.
Coleman - 8 -Great home debut, fearlessness of youth, and ability to sprint!
Baines - 6 -Needed more from a seasoned pro, deliveries way lacking.
Hibbert - 9 - Colossus. Three RB's in defence, and he was solid and saving.
Neil - 6 - Expected far more, bullied by Peter 'Bambi' Crouch. What happened to the guy that broke Carraghers leg?
Billy - 6 - Looked to get back and defend for a change, some great balls in, but awful set pieces.
Fellaini - 8 - weathered a bad beat from the ass hole in black, kept fighting, made some bad passin errors, but won header after header. Instrumental today.
Rodwell - 7 - Went off the boil after a pathetic ref decision but never stopped running and showing for a pass. Bad shooting choices.
Cahill - 7 -Should be saint Cahill after today, kicked more often than the ball. Great taken goal, and nothing more deserved. Iron man.
Pienaar - 7 - Kicked almost as much as Cahill, still recovering but shgowed great feet and continued to fight with little or no protection from the rest. Cracking player with a heart bigger than the sum of his parts.
Jo - 6 - Tried hard, some great touches at unimportant moments, loss of composure when it really mattered.
Saha - 7 - Scored. Not fit. Player in form, gravitates towards the right areas and moments.
Yakubu - 5 -Still a bit of a lemon, needs a mon th of solid running to get back to fitness and anything like desire/hunger for the ball - let alone hunger/desire to score

Neville, Jagielka, and Arteta cannot get back quick enough.

.
Yakubu - 5 - Pretty awful really.

Seemed ok to me really after he came on.

Just watched the highlights, did you see that lovely bit of play where he picked the ball up with his back to goal and played a great reverse pass through for Pienarr to pick up leading to his cross and Saha's overhead?

Agree with this. Hibbo may be a 'loyal servant', and 'do anything the manager asks of him', and be 'a true blue through and through', but his positional sense defensively and his reading of the game are awful. I think his days were numbered anyway, but now with Coleman coming through we will soon have loads of better options at RB.

Agree with Jo offsides comment as well - my wife understands the offside rule better than him.

I don't agree with you much, and you with me. But this is bang on the money. Bingo, spot on, nail on the head, and more stuff like that.

I actually enjoyed watching Everton when Jo wasn't there to ruin it with his quite blatant ineptness. Can't believe some people actually believed he played quite well, and these shots on goal. When were these?
