..i’m not defending him, Dave, but perhaps he’s not happy with that left side and has plans for a total rebuild. Sigurdsson is not conventional out there, so buying players in isolation is a recipe for having an unbalanced team. He said his preferred LB option was unavailable, I take him at his word because that’s what i’m like.

Preferred players for positions are a luxury no manager can indulge in. They cant work like that - looking for ideals. They must have a primary target then a series of secondary targets if the primary target cant be secured. Time waits for no team in our position.

Allardyce has been around the block and knows that. It beggars belief he hasn't brought anyone in.

..unless he knows one of his main targets is available in the summer. For example, the indication was that Bayern were not prepared to sell the LB we were interested in part way through the season. All conjecture of course.

We could have had more leave from midfield and more come in at the back and up front, but not bad. I am still used to windows were you just want it to be over so your best player doesn’t leave, but there was none of that this time. Some will argue that is because we don’t have any players worth buying!

Walcott seems to have settled in fast and hopefully he will get 10 goals or more before the end of the season and fire us up the table.

I hope Tosun gets a fair crack of the whip. Mangala I’m not too sure about. Now that Klassen has stayed I would like to see him given a go as well

So 80% say 5 or higher, 64% say 6 or higher. Yes we're all disappointed not to have bought a specialised LB in this window, but the consensus is that it's not been a bad window, all things considered. So now you know : next time you hear some loudmouth ranting about what a joke the club are and how they get every transfer decision wrong ... they don't represent the majority of fans.

I don’t think you can really rate a transfer window until a few months have elapsed.

Most of us thought the summer one was good but it turned out a disaster :(

Just a six from me Theo is a good signing we needed a left footed CB and Cenk has potential. We are still missing a passing /box to box central midfielder but happy to see Davies get a run there we obviously needed a left back. We did some good clearing of the decks although some bizarre decisions in the case of Sandro(not a great deal for us) and Lookman(shouldn't have been loaned out let alone to Germany) for me .

4, because LB still not addressed and the outgoings and attempted outgoings put a harsh, unavoidable spotlight on what a god awful job our so-called director of football has done to date.

if they had signed a good left back along with Tosun, Theo and Mangala it would have been 9/10.

Happy he's shipped absolute dross like Besic and Mirallis out.

Walcott is quality so his signing obviously (with that price) is excellent piece of business (9)

Tosun is a question mark atm but would think he can become ok player after settling period. (5/6/7)

Mangala could be good coup for us I feels. I thinks his qualities will suit better in Evertons style than in Citys. Big and strong guy. (6/7/8)

6 outs 3 ins this is ok window (7)

Yer mars.
