I gave it an 8 at the time but I had just dropped quite a bit of acid to celebrate Doucoure leaving. On reflection, I should have given actual incoming transfers more thought.
Look at the team that finished that game today. The last transfer window was an insult. Unprecedented indeed.
This is, arguably, our strongest matchday squad when everyone is fit and available. Is it really that bad after one window after years of barely escaping the drop and being financially hamstrung?

After being promised an ‘unprecedented rebuild’, yes. Look at the full backs and strikers![]()
Were we promised that in one window?
Literally yes.

That was a genuine question, I can't remember, can you link?
Google it.
I did, and got this, which is just referring to the number of players we had to bring in to fill a squad??? Unless you're talking about something else.
The transfer window was always going to be challenging. With only 12 players under contract at the end of last season, we were forced to embark on a rebuild which was unprecedented for a team not making the step up into the Premier League from the Championship.
‘There is a huge restructure to be done in terms of the squad. It’s pretty unprecedented at Premier league level. But David and I see that as an opportunity to take the team on to the next level’.
I fail to see him saying this will be done in one window as you said he literally did.
