Rasmus Elm

In that case, who have we spoken to or enquired about and why have we seen no signs of new faces arriving? Why also have most others spent yet we are still waiting to bolster a much needed squad? I am starting to believe we will make a panic buy on transfer deadline day.
BEcause Moyes have gotten his competitors to buy players he doesn't want. Simply by spreading a rumour that he's interested other coaches rush to buy them in the hope to get them before Moyes does. Leaving them too poor to compete when he goes for the players he really wants... late in August.(y)

I think when moyes said that we were not going to sign any major players this year, at the AGM. Most of us thought he was playing mind games.
Now I think they believe him, I dont think we will sign anyone for cash now, I think we will probably sign someone on loan on transfer deadline day, probably from a team that has too many players, like Man City or Spurs

i don't want any players who are 50/50 about joining everton... close the book on him..

arghhhhh... the horror..

Indeed.....all along we probably should have listened to what they actually said

Where's the money though? Spent in previous years?

In the Mirror today it was reported that Everton had advised Elm we want a quick decision, so it was make up your mind time.

Methinks this is another wannanot and he will not becoming. Pity I think he would have done well.

Time to move on again, how many times is that now? Or should the question be how much money have we really got available? I think it is not large and that is why the transfers are going pearshaped. If the club and Moyes had been serious about RB then they should have upped the offer to match Spurs, after all we would then own 2 great prospects. Not enough money available I think.

If reports are true the club would have needed to have been real serious about this bid. The total transfer could rise to £11m if you believe the media. That's double the original bid, and brings in a player we never even bid for.

Would you have agreed to such a doubling of the transfer deal especially if your original bid had been agreed and accepted? taking away the fact that we are tight for money would you have doubled your bid which is in effect what we would have had to do?

Give a year and I bet we could have moved one on at a profit. You should be aware that with them we would have had cover for both full back positions and if I recall Walker can also do CB. So I do think it would have been a good do. If Walker had gone back to SU on loan they would have been paying his wages. It is our loss and meanwhile we are stuck with Hiobbert at RB, you like that I take it.

I think Elm was ready to commit until he got a gander at the away kit. That blasted "flash of brilliance" is going to drive any right-minded target to think twice.

Never seen this lad play.
BUt don't blame Moyes for asking the lad to make a decision soon, we more than often seem to gentlemanly when doing transfer dealings. Like the Naughton deal.

Naughton and Walker are gone - let it go. GOT had it right - we weren't going to pay 5 million for Walker just to loan him back to SUFC for the season. Good call by Moyes.

Demanding an answer from Elm (if indeed true) should mean that Everton have already discussed personal terms with Elm and would plausibly have had some negotiations with Kalmar as to the transfer fee - something along the lines of if Elm wants to join Everton, the transfer fee is X. Everton and Kalmar could have easily already agreed on a price without a bid having been made as reported by Kalmar's chairman.

I like the approach - this is who we are and how we run a football club, if you're in, fabulous. If you're out, tell me now so we don't waste our time dithering about.

Heerenveen have already dived in on the lid. (Sky Sports Clockwatch)

Heerenveen have had a bid for Kalmar midfielder Rasmus Elm, who is also wanted by Everton, rejected by the Swedish club.

His brother Viktor plays for them. Will that eventually be enough to sway him to join them?
