I’m probably with this but wouldn’t really argue if anyone swapped 2/3 . Pickford has almost certainly been more important to us though .

As regards Southall , they’re all really good keepers but big nev is so far ahead of the other three it’s frightening . That in itself illustrates just how good he is .

I really hope the remnants of Kenwrights legacy are completely washed away once the takeover is complete, and greats like Southall who dared tell it like it is are given more respect.

Well number one you could literally remove Everton and replace it all time best and he'd still for me come in number one ahead of any in history.

3. Pickford.
475th. Howard.

Martyn for too brief a tine was better than Pickford has ever been for us, but it's close due to Pickford being good for a long period - Martyn was exceptional but for a short time.

I'd agree.
Very close call between Martyn and Pickford for second.
Wonder how many caps Pickford will end up with?

Those high claim/catches numbers are pretty shocking.

I'm still going with:

though. There has to be some mitigation for the fact that Howard was playing in a pretty consistently top 6-10 team whereas Pickers has been stuck in a clown car for years.

I'd make an excuse that different eras affect things. The way a modern football and moves and spins is fairly different to one years ago, the pace of the game is much faster and in terms of athletic ability the modern players are stronger, more agile and get higher. Always difficult to compare eras and then there's the rose tinted glasses exacerbating things - Even Big Nev made mistakes from time to time but some would have you believe he didn't.

That said he's top of that list by a considerable distance.

Nev is my favourite player of all time and agree with the Nev by a mile shouts to a large extent.... but in 2004/5 Martyn was unreal, just as good.

Shame we didnt get to see a prime Martyn, even though he was excellent, I'd go Pickford ahead just because hes been doing it for so long
