Ok....so this is maybe the most unlikely of rumours, but I have seen it mentioned on the BBC gossip page, and as I'm up and can't sleep this morning I thought why not...

Now I am a huge fan of him, he would be along with Manny, The Mout or Defour the type of midfielder we need (urgently)

When he went to Hamburg for 4m (ish) I couldn't believe nobody else went in for him. I have also read he's not on stupid money either.....Hmm

Anyway.......will never happen, but I would say it's one I'd like to see more than any other

If we were in talks with him and that's a big if, another club would hijack him from us. Ie.. chelsea or the [Poor language removed].

He would do, if the rumour is true, anyone with his quality would be welcome.

Season starts in 6 days, Jacobsen, Valente, Castillo & VDM has left us, what have we done to replace the number?

We've got two American lads and a young Leeds Academy player, apart from that we have sign no one else (Jo won't count as he was with us last season), you could hardly call these suitable replacement or addition.

Why can't we sign someone before the season start? This is starting to look like a joke to me!

If we can't sign someone else before the Arsenal game, I won't be laughing at all.

I'd like to see VdM exchanged with VdV. Think he's a very good player that could improve our squad significantly.

I still think Senderos is a large possibility even though the transfer has dragged out in time. Perhaps due to the fact that we're facing Arsenal in 6 days? Strike a deal with a verbal agreement that he won't play in that game is a possibility.

Personaly i think he will go back to Hamburg he has a real passion for the club.

Never say never in his case. He desperately wants out at Madrid, as it's clear that he doesn't have a future there. However, the only club that has shown an (serious) interest in signing him uptill now, is his former employer HSV. They can't seem to come to an agreement with Madrid though.

When he first delared he wanted to leave Madrid, I was inclined to agree with you and said: "No chance of him joining Everton what so ever." The longer this goes on though, the more I get a feeling, Everton could possible have a chance if they decided to move for him.

Would absolutely love him at Everton. For me he's the best Dutch player at Madrid and certainly the most consistent one.

OK, I miss this line "I would still be laughing if we beat Arsenal."

If we could beat Arsenal it would be the best birthday present ever from Everton.

He apparently went to Hamburg, as he and his awesomely hot wife are the Dutch Posh and Becks and he wanted out of the constant hassle of the Dutch Press (so I have been told by a Dutch man)

Anyway, he kind of went against that joining the Madrid circus didn't he? :dodgy:

But rather than joining Chelsea or someone where they hype would be crazy, I wonder if Everton would be a more suitable option for him

Plus on my current FM game, he looks really good next to Fellaini (y)

Hes vesrsatile as well so you could see Moyesy liking him, just dont see a signing of that type of value (financialy) this summer at the mo.

This would be an absolutely excellent signing . He is a class act and a massive step in the right direction . We must be bold and strong and not afraid of competion in a quest to sign him .

would be great signing (y)

but wont happen even if true by the time we get round to sorting it someone else will just nip in and sign him in record time we seem to take weeks to do a deal

while every other prem club completes most deals in a day

Was just about to post that. Sylvie van der Vaart* is one of the hottest chicks in Holland. They do have kind of a Beckham status in both Holland and Germany. reason he wanted to join Madrid though, is because his grandad was/is living in Spain. Believe he was of Spanish nationality(not quite sure though) and he desperately wanted move there, so the old man could see him play more often. I know, it sounds like a very soft story, but that was what was being told, before his collapsed transfer to Valencia

*Btw, his wife Sylvie was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year and is about to receive chemo therapyfor this. according to the doctors it's a precautionary measure.
