Well at least this "If" isn't in the history, what "if" Mina is fit whole season, what "if" DCL is fit, what if....

Agreed the longer he stayed, that kind of character could be the medicine craved for so long.
But reality is reality.
He just needs to give a speech to the 11 players that go to play today.
"What's gone is gone. Show me your choice today on the pitch and I thank you for that." :)

It's all up to the 11 players now. Not Benitez. They can bit that crap in any formation, even without a coach.

The players will ultimately decide. Whatever people say, if we’d cut out basic individual errors this season we wouldn’t be in this mess even with the limitations of the manager. We simply can’t have Keane Coleman Holgate gifting the opposition easy goals every game.

Maybe 90% of people agree with you on this point. He knew he didn't have money or maybe $1.7m to spend in the summer, while the team already full with Sigurdsson, Tosun, Delph, Davies, JJK, Gbamin, Kean, Holgate, Keane, Holgate, etc. So, it's his choice to deal with that and reasonably responsible for.

Like I mentioned in the Mina's post. The most lethal blow to his campaign was Mina's injury. That made him like playing with "Russian Roulette", he didn't know which combination kill him or save him at the back.

He could have used the combination that made us pretty defensively solid last season as Mina missed 14 games last season. Fairly sure we didn't just give up in all of those games.

That's true though. Carlo managed to play 5 defenders against Liverpool and won 2:0 with the same crap line-up he had. Unbelievably, it's Holgate, Godfrey and Keane at the back 3. So, they were able to perform at certain levels, not consistently though.

Either Benitez made them worse, or those are not willing to fight for him. Or both? :coffee:

That was the worst Liverpool side in 30 years though
Everyone was beating them

Can't mentioned Carlo. Benitez saw him as a failure.
