Well, he could have just gotten lucky. That happens.

By all accounts, this guy picks up on miniscule details and quizzes players on all aspects of his findings. He is thorough and methodical and ensure our playing staff are fully briefed and ready, therefore the notion of "getting lucky" seems inaccurate. I would praise any manager that gets a tune out of our lads.

To be included with those managers is pretty solid, All the other managers either have better players to work with or have built a squad with time and money.
Not a bad start for Benitez though. I can see us being like old Everton now though, beat most of the sides below us but struggle with the real top sides....just like we were with Moyes. So probably a top 10 finish...maybe 8th, can't really see us going any higher due to unlucky lengthy injury lists that are just waiting to happen.

I have just had a read and I thought we were the most miserable fans but I was wrong. I kind of get it as Bruce is awful but the media love him so it would wind me up.

They were genuinely fuming that they didn’t go down last season and actively hoping we batter them because Benitez is our manager, never seen anything like it.

I wouldn't be so sure. Benitez is far smarter than Moyes was when he was here. He knows how to set a trap.

Curiously Ancelotti was Manager of the month September 2020. Anyway, it is good to see Everton starting campaigns positively for once. I remember many season in previous years when they started really poorly

They have all won 2 and drawn 1.

Moyes also spent nearly 70 mil. Tuchel spent nearly 100 mil on 1 player.

Rafael deserves it. Back to the days of "cash strapped" Everton and the dogs of war. Even though it's FFP rather cash stappedness that's made him need to shop in Home Bargains rather than Fortnum & Masons lol
