he did fail at Real Madrid, yes
I like the way he has started the season, and having anyone determined to prove people wrong is usually a great thing in and of itself, but lets not forget his post-RS career has been one long session of underwhelm.
I'm not getting in to this again. He won the Europa League with Chelsea and finished 3rd after coming in part of the way in to the season and having the fans on his back. Roman thought he did such a good job that they remain friends to this day and he recommended Rafael to Uzmanov.
He basically transformed Napoli and set them up for the next 5 years. Won 2 trophies, 1 of which they hadn't won for over 20 years and he took them further in Europe than they had been for over a decade and still haven't got as far. Again he remains on close terms with De Laurentis. He's called the Godfather in Naples and is very much revered.
He took Newcastle up at the first time of asking and kept Newcastle in the league for 2 seasons. He created a great spine and was one of the best defensive teams outside the top 6. His form in the last 6 months there would have seen them in the top 8. Again was offered a new contract and is treated like a messiah on tyneside.
You can call him underwhelming all you like, see if you're still saying that after he achieves more than
Moyes. People are already predicting that he will be our most successful manager since Kendall.
