I agree we are a bit worse but I put that down mainly to us having a far inferior manager. But a drop of about 20 points would be appalling. I can accept a small decline but not the form falling off a cliff.
Fans need to ensure that expectations are not allowed to be reduced significantly because that's a proper losing mentality that will just get worse and worse. Benitez should be judged based on what Ancelotti got out of this squad. 10th is the benchmark.
We’re significantly worse mate, we had limits last year, but loosing Jamo, Carlo, picking up injuries and not progressing when most of the rest of the league invested and progressed. You right on the change on manager to. Over all there is a depleting regressive atmosphere around the club.
I don’t think fans need to have anything, it’s not some happy clapp, group think, if your unsatisfied and I am with the club from top to bottom I’m going to call it, it’s nof a defeatist attitude, it’s highlighting the broken peices and canvassing for change or improvement, we know we’re not meeting a standard and I’m not going to lie that all is rosey and acceptable. The welfare of the club is paramount 40 points is my expectation. I expect nothing more then to hope to stay up this season, but I’m sure as hell going to point out that’s not good enough. Any other happy clappy stuff is wall papering over the cracks of poor decision making and governance at the club, colluding with that is defeatist in my opinion.
On a separate 59 points last season was a Poor return given the context too so that wouldn’t be a standard either in my opinion mate.
