Racism in football

You can't blame a language barrier, a picture of a monkey is a picture of a monkey in any language.

You can't blame cultural differences as Italians use monkey chants as racist abuse.

I'm not sure what you can blame this on.

Just pure stupidity and inbred racism at the very highest level of Italian football.
 
It’s outrageous isn’t it. It’s beyond disgusting.

It’s clear now the Italian FA simply have no motivation to even attempt to kick racism out of footy in their leagues; if this is their answer they’re going about it the wrong way.

I think it’s now up to the players to start boycotting games, demanded transfers away, and players from around Europe refusing to deal with Italian footy altogether until they get their act together.

I’m sure there is a quite a few who refuse to play there, and all it needs is some publicity of it and it could be a domino effect.

Their FA and the clubs would soon get their act together.

I think it's even deeper than that, I don't even think they recognise there's a problem. Italian football fans just have the weirdest attitude to this sort of stuff and seem to go into defence and denial mode whenever a racially abused player pulls them up on it

Completely agree.

I think it goes deeper than football. Sweeping it under the rug does appear to be the mindset.

What’s ironic is that this No To Racism ad will cause absolute uproar and they’ll get relentless attention from all angles and even the casual or those not associated with football will look in and realize Italy has serious problems.
 
I've clearly been living under a rock, because for the last 20 minutes or so i've been reading about Italian Racism and it appears its also absolutely rife in their politics too....... I thought it was a thing of the past, but i'm appalled at what i have just been reading.

Thing is now that Boris has won another 5 years watch what happens over here. The amount of racism on Twitter has gone crazy, fully expect it to creep into our football more and more now, while its a big problem in Italy we are heading that way too
